Car will drive for awhile and then stall, has to sit and then will restart. Happens only when gas tank gets below half full. Replaced fuel pump, issue still occurring. Planning on trying crankshaft position sensor next and then onto MAF sensor. Any thoughts would be most appreciated! Thanks!
You need to check fuel pressure carefully. This happens when tank is so full of dirt that the pump screen gets clogged. After sitting down several minutes, some of the dirt settles and the car can be restarted, but happens again. Refrain from starting to change every sensor without knowing what is the real cause, because you could be thowing money and not fixing it. Aldo check pressure regulator is functioning correctly. If you can get a magnet....use it to pull it out...has to be a stong one....like on the back of a audio speaker. That's the part that's stuck right? Is there any part of it sticking out?

I had this problem with my 99 Durango and went to AutoBeef.com to discover this was a major problem with 98 & 99 Durangos. The fix was easy -- PCM "brain" was exchanged with a refurbished PCM "brain" from an online PCM company in Florida. You can google as I can't remember name of company. I called them and they said - Yep this is the fix -- the guys told me 3 screws all I had gone to several mechanics and dealers -- none could figure it out. I was so grateful that someone gave me the clue I needed.
SOURCE: 2000 Dodge Intrepid with PO455 code and stalling.
A code 455 most likely one or more of the following has happened
a loose or bad gas cap
a non-conforming gas cap
other leaks or damage pieces in the evap system
Inspect the evap system for cracks or breaks in lines listen for vacume leaks or strong gas fume smell and fix all lines you find that are damaged ..I know you say you put a new gas cap but make sure it a conforming cap..Hope this helps
