It's easy to tell the difference, the trans pan is very flat and square. The oil pan is also square but it it not as wide, it is taller and goes higher up into the engine area than the trans. Good luck

I have a 1999 Saturn sl model and NOWHERE can I find the dipstick to check the tranny. There is the yellow dipstick for the oil, but where the Chilton's guide tells me there should be a red dipstick for...

The Transmission has a check plug and a fill cap. The check plug is located just under the passenger side axle and has a 11 mm head on it. The fill cap is on top of the transmission just underneath the air cleaner box. the transmission must be ideling in park and be warm to the touch , not hot or cold. Fluid should drip from check plug when full.

Need tips and location of oil filter and drain plug.

well the drain plug is ALWAYS gonna be on the bottom of the oil pan bolted to the bottom of the engine, the filter is either gonna be on the oil pump near the oil pan or it will be screwed into the side of the engine block, either way you should be able to see it just from a quick look from underneath the car.

Oil drain plug location and oil filter location 03 cadillac escal

The oil drain plug is close to the radiator area underneath the Escalade. And the oil filter is a standard screw on type which is clearly visable from underneath.

Where is the oil plug on a 2008 saturn aura?

The oil drain plug is rear side of the oil pan at the center bottom. The attached picture is from 2.4L non-hybrid but they are similar.

(Note that these pictures have brass fumoto valve installed in place of the plug. I am just fancy like that).

Oil Change

hi you will need a jack.the drain plug is located at the verry bottom of the engine on the oil pan.do not know what motor you have, but look at the new oil filter, and try to locate the one on the car (it may be a diffrent color),use a oil filter wrench to remove the oil filter.use new oil to lubricate the new oil filter rubber gasket, and put on as tight as you can by hand (only.)

Changing Oil '04 GMC Envoy XUV

Guessing that this Truck has the V8???? Slide up underneath. The Drain plug is the Bold Closest to the Front and will be at a Slight Angle. There is one farther back But, This one is the Tranny. The Filter is Right around the Same area as the Drain Plug for the Oil. Just look up and you will see it.
