Enter the 5-digit Radio Code using the radios station preset buttons. After entering the fifth digit press the > button and the radio will activate. Any presets you had before the power loss will return. Apparently a capacitor in the radio holds that information

I have preset 1-6 and my code has 0 and 8 in it. How do I enter these.
After changing the battery in a year 2000 318ci Coupe the CD changer does not work. I have the code but my preset buttons only go from 1-6 whereas my code has digits higher than 6. How do I input the code?

i have entered the 5 digit code and then pressed the > button. The numbers disappear and the dashes after the word "code" flash, but the radio does not activate. I try it over, and after 3rd try, "code wait" appears. After an hour, when code ----- appears, I try againm, same thing.
