I have a 2004 Ford Expedition and one of the armrests has come off how do we repair it? I have a 2003 Ford Expedition, one of the rear captain chairs armrests has unscrewed itself. My question is how do I remove the stud from the armrest so I can install it back on the seat?

I have a 2006 that has done the same thing... my husband says the stud in the arm is threaded and he can't get it on the seat without having some way to turn the bolt internally on the arm... help!

If it's similar to those in past, you don't remove the stud, you have to push it back in at certain angle & rotate it, to lock it back in. Something tells me it's at about 2 o'clock, in push hard and turn down to rest position? I know I've had to play with some before getting it to go as it's supposed to. If worst comes to worst, stop at a body shop, it will take them about 2 minutes in most cases.

How to remove interior door panel on 2004 ford expedition?

First pop off the door open handle back plate with a screwdriver. It just snaps on. Do the same with the switch cluster plate below which also snaps in place and remove the switch harness connectors. Next pop off the small narrow cover plate under the armrest pull handle to expose 2 Torx screws. Remove these screws. Next locate a Phillips screw in a retaining cup which is located on the end of the interior door panel just above the latching mechanism and remove that. Locate two 3/8" hex head screws at the bottom of the door panel and remove those. Grab the door panel by the armrest handle and pull up to unhook it from the door. If its the driverside door, you will also have to diconnect the mirror adjustment switch connector to free the door panel.

Looking for a free online repair manual for 2004 Ford Expedition

Pretty simple actually. Sounds retarded but here ya go:

Unscrew all the screws visible. This includes the armrest if applicable.

Get a tool from your local auto parts store that looks like a small pry bar that has a little slot in the middle. it almost looks like the weed puller you use to remove dandelions. Seriously...you'll know it when you see it. This thing is a gem and works on ALL door panels. Slip it inbetween the door panel and the metal part of the door and start popping out the panel. You really want to get behind the plastic fastners if you can. Once you get to panel loose, you want to detach any electrical connectors from the door panel switches.

After that, use a little force to work it upwards to clear the door itself. the seal that is butted up against the glass is sometimes tight.

Do what you need to do and installation is in reverse order.

By the way, that tool is less than $10.00!

Good luck and post if you have any problems.

I have a 2004 Ford Expedition and one of the armrests has come off how do we repair it?

to tighten the NUT that holds the armrest on the 2nd row captains chair first undo the seat cover plastic snap together on the bottom of the back of the seat, then remove the phillips head screws that hold the plastic seat back under the corpet back, to do this i just poked the screwdriver thru the carpet, you can feel where they are, as a not leave the seat folded down so the screws dont fall ouy of their holes. now with a skinny arm reach under the plastic and work your hand to the nut and tighten it up as good as u can, unfortunatley i dont remember the nut size but you will need a boxend ratchet or a ratchet with a long extension and a swivel or perhaps the screwdriver handle driver and tighten it up. hopefully if it came all the way out you can find the nut, its at least an 11/16. it wouldnt hurt to put locktite on the threads if its all the way out. hope his helps
