I live in the arctic - I recently started by F350 at -45 - have block, battery, and tranmission heater - but the dash and interior lights kept flashing, and now won't come on - clock, radio, interior lights, are out, and a 'Check Gage' message as well as door ajar lights are on. Gauges are working but not properly, and speedo and tach are dead. Should I reset computer - do I disconnect the battery? PS - We love the truck!
There is nothing to reset on the computer. This kind of problem is hard to find. Most likely it is a connector issue, but could be a bad bcm. I would get under the dash and jiggle the relevant wires to see if anything changes while jiggling. If it does, keep jiggling individual wires and locations to isolate the problem to a specific wire or connector. If you think it's a connector, check to make sure the terminals are fully seated in the connector such that the pins are going into the terminals. If none of that works, play around in the fuse box. Take fuses in and out. Swap relays around, etc.

Check the dash for proper grounding and also check the door harness where it passes through the boot for breaks or shorting. The door may be completing the body ground through the latch.
SOURCE: gauges go haywire while driving speedo and tach
intermittant ground in that circuit and its back feeding to find a good ground somewhere else
SOURCE: check gauges info came on. speedo and tach don't
y info coms on s=to bcm modul or ur dashbord gon scan code u will no 1disc the B+ and chek
SOURCE: my gauges don't work , no interior lights no power windows
I had the same problem with my 2003 Ford Explorer. I disconnected the battery, which give the relays a chance to reset.
Clean battery termals reconnect and all good.
