2003 honda pilot horn not working

+/- a week ago I took my to a car wash (with undercarriage washing) - which never had been an issue before. After traveling +/- 35 miles and parking the vehicle, the horn started blaring on its own non-stop. I started the vehicle and drove it a bit - which temporarily silenced the horn. A while later, the horn started blaring on its own again, so I started the Pilot again and drove it a bit. The horn silenced again - but this time (as I later discovered), the fuse blew - also disabling the parking interlock, etc. Since the owner's manual doesn't indicate which fuse operates the , I researched it online and finally found a schematic of the correct fuse panel - though the fuse numbers were way off (I checked the diagram and guessed correctly that it was fuse # 7). I replaced the 20 amp fuse - only to discover that trying to use the (now, disabled) horn now simply blows the fuse - and I've had to replace the fuse several times already - since I've needed to use the horn and keep forgetting that it's disabled. Does this indicate that the horn relay needs to be replaced - or could it be an electrical short elsewhere? FYI: I recently had to have the ignition key cylinder replaced. Could that also have been a source and/or solution to this problem? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

There is a short on the wire connector at the horn itself.

SOURCE: ignition switch repairs

Once the dealer hooks up their computer and activates the ignition you shouldn't need to go back, The code that you were given is usually just a temp code to get you to the dealer.

SOURCE: 2005 honda pilot will not start

I had a similar issue, but I think it's because I left the tailgate door open slightly and the built-in light killed my battery. I jumped my battery, but I wasn't able to start my car again and this time the door was closed properly. I was told by Honda that the batteries only last for about 2-3 years. I have since replaced the battery and no more issues.

SOURCE: Problem: passenger window will not

Hi,
The problem would be the power window switch assembly! That switch controls the power to ur window motors! If u are a tinkering man, try to borrow from any garage/friend w/ the same window switch and test it!
Or
Go to ur service center and have them check it for free... they always try the new switch... and you will know the main prob!

Need an undercarriage protection for our 2003 chevy blazer - cant find one!

There are any number of commercial protection products available over the counter.. of any auto part store, or online.

In my own humble opinion... Your best protection is regular washing with clean water, and some WD40 on all unpainted surfaces. Any coating you put on will eventually trap moisture and contaminants under it, causing corrosion faster.
Easy way to prevent undercarriage rust is to power wash the entire undercarrage, then spray the entire undercarriage with WD-40 before the onset of winter.

WD-40 displaces water, helping to keep rust under control. Suprisingly, it doesn't come off as easily as you'd think in wet winter driving.
Use use two medium size cans of WD-40 to do all undercarriage, making sure to spray every nook and cranny (but avoiding the brake rotors/pads) until it is saturated.

Believe it or not, one good coating will last all winter--at least enough to prevent rust. Each spring, use a high pressure sprayer to clean the undercarriage and reapply a new coat of WD-40 for the spring/summer/fall months.

My 2003 honda pilot is difficult to shift into drive

There could be a number of issues with a Honda Pilot not shifting into drive. In fact, I had this problem with my 2003 Honda Pilot two weeks ago and had to replace my transmission. More than 100,000 2003 Honda Pilots were recalled in 2004 because of a transmission problem -- was your Honda part of that recall? If so, Honda may help you with some of the costs.

If the problem is not with the transmission, I suggest making sure that your steering column is not locked. You will also notice that on the top of the steering column is a small plate. If you remove the plate and press down with a coin, you can unlock the steering column, enabling you to shift into drive.

Hopefully these solutions will help...but be sure to see your auto service shop for more details on your situation.

Horn died

It is either the rotating contact under the steering wheel that connects the horn button to the horn relay, or the horn relay and or the horn itself.
