Reverse lights don't work, inside trunk release doesn't work

The reverse lights do not turn on when the car is put in reverse. And the Trunk Release in the glove box will not work. From my research i have found that the two are on the same circuit, but all the fuses are ok, any ideas?

On my 2002 mercy grand marqius when u put in reverse the trunk pop open

Your reverse light wires are probably
rubbed thru and touching the wire
that activates the trunk release. remove
the reverse light bulbs and see if it does it again, or remove the fuse for the trunk release. Also have someone look at the
reverse lights while your pushing
the trunk button on the drivers door.
If yhey come on then you know the circuit
is shorting to power

My backup lights do not come when i put it in reverse

I had the wires broken inside the loom that comes up from the trunk to the trunk lid. The wires bend by the right hand trunk hinge and break inside the insulation after years of opening and closing. I'm suprised that is the only ting in the trunk lid that doesn't work because the license plate lights, trunk release and the other running light wires also come through that loom and usually break.

99 chevy lumina reverse lights not working. changed bulbs..nothing. the trunk release which is tied into the same harness also doesn't work. don't know if this is related. is there a switch t

This is a failure of the "remote function actuation module". It is located under the rear deck next to the right rear speaker. The rear seat must be removed to access it along with removing the rear deck. It controls the trunk release, door locks, dome light, and reverse light. My remote trunk release stopped working along with the relase button on the dash along with the reverse lights failing at the same time. The module is over $150 so I would try to find a way to rewire the lights to work without the module.

My 2003 Saturn Ion remote trunk release won't

Check to make sure the button on the trunk latch is turned from manual unlock...they made that feature so only the key will work to open the trunk that way if someone breaks in the front of your car they can't hit the trunk release and get into the trunk...may be the same thing for your remote. Hope that helps.

2002 Mercury Grand Marquis. Backup lights won't work

Does pushing the trunk release button make the back up lights illuminate? Has the car been serviced or wrecked before this problem? Have you been golfing and put clubs in the huge trunk. Either the ground wire for the trunk lid devices is bad or the trunk release wire (purple/orange) and the reverse lamps wire (purple/white) have been reversed.
