Same problem in my 98. All fuses listed for radio and and amap are good. There is a red and yellow wire going to the amp. The yellow wire is hot when I have the radio on and the red shows ground. Not sure if one is power and the other a trigger. Will check more when I can get all the panels off.Same problem in my 98. All fuses listed for radio and and amap are good. I need to have more info about how you installed it, did you use rca wires from the radio to the amp.? Make sure the sub setting on radio is turned on. Make sure rca wire are in the input connection and not output, also check you connection from radio that they're in rite place. I really need more info about the map of your wireing
The entire assy. This uses a cable system and what you are hearing is the cable twisting and getting ready to snap. New units are available at Advance Auto parts
the heater bypass is quite simple, if you look at the firewall you will see two medium sized coolant lines, remove them from the firewall and link them together using a proper sized tube, you can purchase a kit at a parts store quite cheaply
