Took montero to an auto shop that sells batteries (in El Paso, TX), they installed new battery and now the cruise control is not working (it was working just fine before that, I drove it from Austin to El Paso and used the cruise throughout the trip).

I have had a similar problem with mine. The repair shop is telling me there is oil seeping into the alternator and shorting it out. I am going to soo if I can put some sort of shielding around it to prevent this.

well the first thing is to check all your fuses, then i would take a look under the hood for any broken or disconnected vacuum lines,this is what i would check first, hope this is helpful.
