1998 plymouth voyager vents changes from hot to cold to top defrost vents down to floor all on its own

While using the temperature controls on our 1998 Plymouth Voyager they seem to change from hot to cold and vice versa and also shift from blowing from one row of vents to the next all on its own.

Sounds like you have a broken vacuum hose for heater controls or vacuum reserve tank if controls changes when accelerating or going up steep hill, check your vacuum hoses from engine to inside controls

SOURCE: My ac will not change vents in my 95 plymouth grand voyager

You have a broken plastic vacuum line in your engine compartment. Look for the line near where the A/C lines go through the firewall. Then look for the other end of the line to be coming out of the intake manifold. When you find both ends, it can usually be spliced with a piece of small rubber vacuum hose. I usually use hose that is intended for use on windshield washer lines, which can be purchaced at most any retail parts outlet. Most of the time, you only need about an inch of rubber hose to splice it with. You can probably get the parts counter person to GIVE you a small piece.

SOURCE: how to change 1998 Plymouth grand Voyager front sway bars

unbolt the sway bar links from the control arms and the two brackets holding it to the frame. make sure if you jack it up jack up the front end. if you jack up one side and not the other and take the sway bar loose it will be loaded and could cause injury if not careful as long as both front tires are off the ground the sway bar will not be loaded and will be safe to deal with

SOURCE: heater blows cold air 1995 plymouth voyager

With the engine cold & the radiator full remove the radiator cap and start the engine. Let the engine reach operating temperature which will open the thermostat. When it opens the water in the radiator will start circulating if the pump & thermostat are operating properly. If all is ok replace the cap and turn the temperature lever on the heater to hot If you still have no heat check the heater valve on the engine firewall. Open it manually and see if you have heat. If yes check the cable from the velve to the temperature lever.

Overheating

Couple of possibilities here. One is the heater core bypass valve that allows the coolant to flow to the heater core. Make sure that the vacuum tube has not come off of it. Should be under the hood just on top of the blower motor assembly. Let the engine get hot and check to see if the hoses going to the heater core are getting hot coolant flowing through them.

Does the air flow through the defroster, front vents, and floor vents when they are selected? If not, this can indicate a vacuum leak on the HVAC control panel or a failure of the switch.

My AC works but heater blows cold on my 99 Plymouth voyager

I used to install AC in those, so I might be able to help. It is either the temp adjustment linkage, or it is the accessory selector. When you go from AC to heater does the air move from the vents to blowing on the floor? If so then it is possible that the linkage to the temp controller has probably slipped off one of the levers that controls the incoming air, from cold to hot. It is an easy fix. It would have to be that, because if you couldn't switch from AC to heat, you can always make the AC hot with the temp control lever.

I have a international 9400i. i cannot change which vent blow air. cannot change to defrost. is there a valve that controls this? if so where is it located?

International 9400 9200 9900 heat box is under the passages side seat. That where the heater core location and the ac evaporator blower. You have two control motors under there one control the bunk for hot and cold. The other control front for hot and cold. Defrost vent and front vent is in the dash. My suck on defrost and in floor will open to front vent. I have not locate yet.

I have a 98 ply grand voyager, and have heat from the drivers side vents, but cold air from the passenger side vents? please help

Does your van have seperate controls for driver and passenger temperature settings? If so the most likely cause is a broken actuator or broken passenger blend door. Unfortunately, the only way to repair a broken blend door is to remove the dash and the HVAC assembly.

No heat in 1997 Plymouth voyager . only cold air comes from vents

CHECK and ADD ANTIFREEZE if needed. change thermostat, check the vacuum line to be sure the temp control is switching from cold to hot first.

1999 plymouth grand voyager heater does not blow hot

One of two probable problems:
1. The Heater / Air Condition Control is going bad or is bad.
a. Disconnect the negative side of the battery.
b. Remove the Heater / AC face plate off the front. To do this: Remove the two (2) screws on the top lip of the plate.
c. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear of the Control Module.
OR
2. The Heater Core is defective and needs to be replaced.
Sorry, but it has to be noted that the dealer or repair shop ($$) can diagnose the system at the Heater / AC Control Module. Also, after you replace this Module: a diagnostic and re-calibration tests are needed to be performed.

This car has the automatic temperature control system

The hot/cold switch is probably bad.you have a blend door box that opens to let the cold air in and closes to let the hot air in.From what you are saying this part is no responding to the switch movement.Make sure power is at the switch and power should go through the switch when put on cold air this moves the blend door. Some times the blend door goes bad and has to be replaced its under the dash on the right side.
