After I put gas in my vehicle, it starts surging and wants to go right to 40 mph or faster but when I stop, it bucks then wants to stall if I'm stopped too long. This also happened the last time I put gas in it and I don't remember at what point it started running fine again.

when i had this problem i had many vacuum leaks and a bad vacuum switching valve
i put in new vacuum lines they were inexpensive and went to the junk yard for another valve you can go to the auto parts store and ask to see one first this fixed my problem
SOURCE: surges or bucks at steady speed, 40 to 50 mph
change fuel filter have injection system cleaned

Had same problem on 93 LS400, timing was off one tooth on left camshaft gear. Replaced belt and reset and no more problems. (Spent 1200.00 on repairs I did'nt need)

check egr valve for vacuum leak. pull hose from manifold. put hose in your mouth like a straw and **** on it. if the valve moves, then it's good. if it doesn't, you need a new egr valve. WARNING, they are fricking expensive! auto zone price $204. NO JOKE
