WHAT IS A FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM

It is best to check the immobiliser is disarmed before checking the other essentials for starting - spark and injection, etc.

If it cranks and cranks then finally starts and slowly picks up speed you may have a leaking fuel pressure regulator, unfortunately this truck has an injection system know as the "spider" and everything including the regulator is under the upper intake manifold so you can't see it leak. GM makes a kit that replaces the spider and poppet setup with real injectors and I think it comes with a regulator. Do this, find the injection test port left rear of the air intake remove the plastic cap then have someone turn the ignition switch on to prime the system then press the schraeder valve and notice how much gas sprays out, next prime the system again but this time wait 5 minutes then press the schraeder again and the spray should be the same if there's little or no fuel coming out replace the regulator and I advise changing the injection system over. If your are a 5.0 you have a TBI (throttle body injection) have some one cranks it you should be able to see fuel spray into the intake,during the start up, if it doesnt then you have a fuel issue,if your a a 6 cylinder you are a multi port and the fuel injector shoots directly into each owns cylinder,either way I do believe you have a fuel pump issue,when you buy a fuel pump for this vehicle it comes with a fuel pump harness repair kit and that is supposed to be changed,

What kind of "fuel injection" problem? Have you tried interfacing with the computer that controls your fuel injection system? If so, what did it tell you? If not, that would be a real good place to start.

It Could Be A Number of things

1 Fuel Pump > Check for Fuel Smell And Pump Noise
2 Timing Belt. If it Cranks Unusualy Fast or sounde as if it SKIPS While Cranking
3IGnition Modual & Coil Packs>> Check For Spark While Someones Cranking Engine Over

try checking the fuel injection module out, ( "spider injection module"). My 2000 blazer did the same thing, fouled out the plugs and all, i hooked the fuel pressure gauge up and had good fuel pressure, just no start. I took it to the shop and they found the injection module to be the culprit. you'll need to replace the plugs if it was the problem since you cranked and cranked it over.

If oyu have spark, fuel and compression the engine should start.
