1984 Ford Ranger only 10-12 mpg and cold blooded and no power

Sometimes when I shut it off after a few minutes it will run better.
Tonight I went 7 Miles and let it Idle for 10 minutes and headed home again and had no power. 18 miles and I had used even more than a quarter tank of fuel. If I don't have high RPMs it or lug it in the least it bucks and kicks and has no power.

Any solutions?

2001 ford ranger after it sits for a few hours it

No not the fuel pump. You most likely need to do a tune uo. New spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter. Deffinently change out the spark plugs. I would suggest using autocraft, autolite (fords brand} or some densos or ngk for better performance. Hope this solves your problem.

Heater in 1984 Bronco blows cold.

There may be a few reasons for this - just check them all in turn.

  1. Low coolant - Check your expansion bottle.
  2. Airlock in heater matrix - Can you hear trickling water sometimes, have you changed the coolant or had to top-up? - Bleed the air out through bleed valve or loosen a hose while engine is running.
  3. Faulty heater valve. This can actually be the link to control the heater valve rather than the valve itself. - How does the hot/ cold switch feel? - is it very loose ? Sometimes the valve gets stiff, and the next time it is moved, the control wire snaps. Often the valve needs replacing and the broken link to cure it. Not a major expense - just fiddly to do.
  4. Blocked heater matrix - from using radweld or similar quick-fixes. Replacement is better than flushing.

1992 ford ranger pickup 4 cyl. 5 speed

Your engine coolant temp. sensor is going bad. What happens is that your engine computer is receiving a bad signal from the ECT sensor and it thinks it's 40 below. An example is it basically slams the choke shut if it had a distributor. When it cools off, I'll bet it runs just fine.
