Engine sounds like tek tek tek tek whenver it is running

I changed the oil, and the old was not good and I am using Fully senthetic oil now but still the sound persists, I believe that the rockers are the source of the sound, what should I do to get rid of this sound, it's 85000 miles on it

Lifters & rockers in the head will wear over time and usually will require them to be adjusted. Thats really not that hard of a job if you are a Gear Head, and have a few basic tools. If not go spend some money with your local mechanic and have him adjust your lifters. As long as its more of a tick tick tick and not a knock, knock, knock. If its a knock, its in the lower part of the motor and its time for you to start looking for something else to drive. Good Luck!!

What are the possible causes for knocking engine sound ( like tek..tek..tek) on Chevrolet Tahoe(2008)?

sticking hydraulic lifter ? oil & filter should be changed @ 3000 miles, but the level should be checked every gas fill-up, if you don't follow this maintenance , you are killing the engine, as far as possible causes of this failure , the owner !

56k miles, noisey lifters on cold start for 25mins..

just like to ask you a question. How often do you do oil change and what grade of viscosity do you use ?
For a good engine you must renew oil if you do long drive and depends what weather you do have every 5000 km, or 3000 miles. why that ? I did carry lots of tests according to oil change and found that any kind of oil you do use fully synthetic or semi synthetic, the oil gets burnt and cause carbon inside the engine and also like gum deposits which are closing slowly - slowly the ways of lubrication and especially the metallic filter in the sump which is picking up the oil sending it to the oil pump and filter and then to rest engine parts.
I personally believe you might have something like this.To try solving this problem buy a RESTORE ENGINE OIL FLUSH put it in your engine old oil and run the engine idle for 40 minutes ( the container states 15 minutes ) but personally use it for 40 min. and then change the oil with new less than what usually putting in e.g.5ltrs put 3ltrs remove the old filter drain it and screw it back on the engine and run engine for 15minutes and then renew oil and filter and put also in the oil an additive RESTORE FRICTION REDUCER,and drive it to see the difference. Good Luck.

How often should I change the oil in my 1995 Honda Accord wagon, under normal driving circumstances, and 145,000 miles on the odometer?

changing the oild depends on the oil you use. If you use regular oil then u need to change it every 3,000 miles. But if you use senthetic oil you can usually change it from every 6,000-9,000 miles.

How to reset change oil light

read below on how to do that

Oldsmobile Alero 2004
Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal slowly three times within five seconds. The reset is complete when you hear the chimes and the “CHANGE OIL” light goes out. If the light stays on and no chime is heard, you will need to repeat the reset procedure. Turn the key to OFF. If the “CHANGE ENGINE OIL” message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

Have tapping noise in oil pan area of 2004 5.3l chev silverado owned since new. noise started suddenly. Seems to quieten down some after warmed up. Speeds up with RPM's... opinion on what cause is ? -...

Sounds like a worn big end bearing. Not a disaster as you have caught it early. Drain engine of oil and remove pan. Remove spark plugs and disconnect battery. Undo big ends, fit new bearings, refit the big ends and tighten to specified torque. Might be an idea to also replace main bearings as a preventative measure whilst everything is open. The main journals on the crank are probably fine. Check the journal facings of the removed bearings and determine not only how much wear but the wear type. I would try using 5-40 (or 5 -50) fully synthetic multigrade oil but not change it so frequently (15K is plenty). These oils are thin when cold and help avoid high shear forces within the bearings at cold temperatures whilst keeping a good viscosity at high running temperatures - good for the more mature engine. Because they are fully synthetic they keep their properties for a very long time. Good luck

2003 Toyota Corolla oil pressure light flickers then goes to solid after a short period of time. Last time this happened, changed oil and filters and light went away. Now after maybe 1000 miles of driving,...

see if you have any oil level or pressure sensors. sometimes these can get gunked up. You may need a new oil pump. I suggest you start using a senthetic oil (valvoline, mobil 1 is reccomended) after u get the problem fixed.

The oil change pre set is 5000 miles is this correct

Yes it is. On your newer vehicles the factory has set your oil change light to come on at 5k, due to the technology in semi synthetic oils. Mazda uses a semi senthetic oil from the factory. I still recommend changing your oil every 3k. You may also consult your owners manual for the recommended service interval and adhere to it. As long as you adhere to manufacturer recommendations and keep your oil change reciepts, you should be ok if anything were to happen.
