Upon acceleration from a stop I hear a squeak/rubbing sound from the rear suspension. The truck also feels like the axle shifts forward at the same time. I have watched the suspension work during take off with my wife in the truck so I could try to determine what was wrong. It looks like the leaves of the springs are binding a bit just prior to the sound then it releases. What can I do to fix this problem. I am a capable mechanic, but I am stumped by this one. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I think that there is 2 solutions:
1. Check if there is enough gas.
2. Maybe you have to change the gas, maybe you put gas that don't fix to your car.

I was able to get two wedges between the glass and the plastic trim. From that I used a scope to see inside and find the mechanism to release the window. Look for the one piece of plastic in the mechanism. The level has to be pushed toward the driver side of the car. Once I got the glass open, I removed the handle, and two screws from each side of the trim and removed the trim.
Once the trim was removed I had a small opening and could see the problem. The end of the latch has a small blue plastic (why plastic??) catch that broke.
Rather than taking the door apart and finding a replacement, I heated a screw driver and made a slot in the plastic. Next I used a heavy duty zip tie and connected the two pieces (plastic catch and metal part that opens the latch). I left some slack in the connection and all works great.
Not sure how long this will last, but for now I have the back opening. I will look at replacing the plastic piece, but not sure if a total new mechanism is needed.

The Denali's are really susceptible to front dif. wear and failure. Because it is AWD, the front dif is always working unlike a 4WD. GM, in order to lighten up the front end built the front dif in aluminum. If it was the same as the rear, it would be bullet proof, but much heavier. After about 80,000 miles it is common to have bearings failing. Remove the drain plug which happens to be magnetic. You may see more than just the normal fine filings. You will likely see larger chunks of metal some of which is not even magnetic but will drain out with the oil. You are likely looking at a $1500 rebuild. It will get much louder and run for a long time before it really goes south.

-Remove tire and brake drum
-put drain pan under axle housing
-remove rear axle housing cover (10 or 12 bolts)
-turn gear untiil the bolt for cross shaft shows and remov e the bolt
-remove the cross shaft.
-push axle in until you can remove "U" clip from axle and axle will pull out,
Remove seal, you need a pulller to remove axle brg.

well it soulnd like you need new brakes and you can adjust the parking break by going in reverse and applying the parking brake
