Is there an ABS light on also? I would suggest that you check for trouble codes first, but it could indicate that the vehicle speed sensor is faulty. Check for the obvious first, fuses, connections to the instrument panel, and trouble codes. Auto Zone and other stores offer computer code reading for free if you don't have the tool.

1994 Cadillac Eldorado speedometer stays on zero

Unless you have a totally stripped-down Eldorado, your speedometer is most likely ELECTRONIC (probably even has a digital readout).
Check your Trip Computer. Has it stopped reading fuel economy, distance to empty, etc.?
Is your odometer also not adding miles as you drive?
If affirmative to all of the above, replace your SPEED SENSOR, and you'll be all set :)

My 4 wheel drive stopped working, I finally fixed it. But before I found the problem, I checked under the truck. Now my speedometer stays at zero, my abs light is on and it wouls switch to 3 rd gear....

Is it a digital speedometer?

If so there may be a wire harness that is loose that connects all those, if it happened after fixing the 4wd

My speedometer stops working sometimes.

Find the speedo cable at transmission and see if it is loose.

Have a ford focus 2004 car, the last few weeks the dial for the speed keeps staying at zero, even though I could be doing 60km, also light staying on all time when driving

OK, have the engine codes scanned to determine what system to look at as far as the engine.

Then, look around the transmission VSS or vehicle speed sensor to see if a loose wire or connection at the harness is causing the lack of speedometer reading.

Maybe try to wiggle the harness a bit to see if on the next drive the speedometer function returns.

If the VSS is changed and connected to the harness and the problem still exists, the wiring should be checked for continuity by a technician.
