The check engine light is located in the message center right above the instrument cluster. To remove it you will need to jest remove the a pillar trim. Those are the plastic pieces that run from the ceiling down to the dash on both sides. Then you will need to remove the upper dash pannel. It is held in by clips. Gently pry up and it will start to release the clips. Once the upper dash panel is out you will see the screws that hold the message center in place. Remove the screws, remove the message center, and replace the bulbs. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

JEREMY IS CORRECT, IN ALL ASPECTS HE QUOTED, IF YOU CAN REMOVE THE MESSAGE CENTER, USUALLY ON THE BACK OF THE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD OF TEMPLATE IS THE INFO. FOR THE BULB THAT WILL LIGHT UP "CHECK ENGINE" OR "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LAMP. REMOVE ONE AND SHINE A SMALL FLASHLIGHT , THEN LOOK AT THE FRONT OF DISPLAY IT WILL TELL YOU WHICH ONE IT IS.

Sounds like Jeremy really knows your model...Where do you live that the check engine light is on an inspection checklist?

When states have a vehicle inspection part of that inspection is tailpipe emissions. If your check engine light is on you fail instantly. In order to prevent people from removing the bulb and "cheating" the system the bulb must illuminate during the bulb check. If it does not, you fail instantly.

Again Jeremy sounds helpful...it seems that a true test of tail pipe emissions would be the best measurement...:)

Of course it's in the dash display somewhere.Shine a light onn the dash and see if you can make it out?
Pulling the dashboard can be difficult or pretty easy........a shop manual would be a good 25 dollar investment if you are wanting to replace this light yourself. don-ohio

Windows cruise mirrors dome light not working 200 f350

There are a few possible reasons why the windows, cruise, and mirrors dome light in your 2000 F350 is not working. Here are a few things you can check: Check the fuse: The first thing you should do is check the fuse for the dome light. The fuse box is typically located under the dashboard. The fuse for the dome light is usually labeled "dome light" or "interior lights." If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new fuse of the same amperage. Check the wiring: If the fuse is not blown, the next thing you should check is the wiring for the dome light. The wiring can be damaged or corroded, which can prevent the light from working. Inspect the wiring carefully for any signs of damage. If you find any damage, repair or replace the wiring. Check the light bulb: If the wiring is not damaged, the next thing you should check is the light bulb itself. The light bulb may be burned out or loose. To check the light bulb, remove it from the socket and inspect it for any signs of damage. If the light bulb is burned out, replace it with a new light bulb. If the light bulb is not burned out, make sure that it is properly seated in the socket. Check the switch: If the light bulb is not burned out and the wiring is not damaged, the next thing you should check is the switch. The switch may be faulty and need to be replaced. To check the switch, disconnect the wiring from the switch and test it with a multimeter. If the switch is faulty, replace it with a new switch. If you have checked all of these things and the dome light is still not working, you may need to take the truck to a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.

Replace check engine light bulb

Take out instrument panel completely. Remove all bulbs and hold the panel up to the sun while looking at the back of it. You will see where each warning/info bulb goes.

Engen light oonly comes on somtimes on dash not on no start

sounds like a short in your ECM. (electronic control module) the computer that runs your systems. it also runs the check engine light and lets you know when a sensor or something isnt working. you will need a good mechanic that knows how to do the electronics in a car.

Turn signals and hazard lights won't work. already replaced flasher unit and burnt bulbs but still no turn signals

Check the Fuse box loacted inside the hood. Look for the guidance on the top of the fuse box for locating trun signal fuses.

Check whether they are good. If not replace with correct rating fuse. If the problem is not solved still, wiring harness has to be checked as the bulbs & flashers are replaced already.

Turn Signal is inop

If your turn signal lights are flashing erratically and they sometimes get stuck in the on position when used, this will confirm a flasher malfunction. Now, if the turn signal bulbs don't work or flash when you initiate the flashing sequence, via the switch, this will confirm switch or bulbs failure.

Ii recommend inspecting the bulbs for bad filament or rods. if the bulbs have black or gray smudges on the front part of the glass, you will need to replace the turn signal bulbs in this case.

if the bulbs check out fine, this will point directly to the switch. Just to be sure, do an inspection on the turn signal bulb wiring harness as well. inspect thoroughly for worn or ripped wires.
