You have a compressor relay open the relay and expose the switch this is now a tool (take out the cover of the relay) with cover out and switch exposed insert the relay back engine running A/C switch on the relay should close if and clutch should come on. If it doesnt collapse the switch it self if the clutch compressor comes on you problem reside in the control switch my a/c compressor isnt getting - cansmo_103.gifcansmo_104.gif

A/C Compressor won't turn on Can jump compressor from battery and compressor comes on & cools. Hi pressure switch checks out ok and 12 volts going to hi pressure switch no voltage to compressor

the high pressure switch kicks the compressor off when the pressure rises, the low pressure switch kicks it on, check that switch, unplug the wire and use a continuity meter to see if the switch functions, also check for power getting to the plug itself

Replaced the ac compressor but now no power to compressor but have power to low and high pressure switches. checked relay under hood, relay and fuse in cabin. what am i missing?

Put a jump wire in the high pressure switch plug. If the compressor works. replace the high pressure switch. Let me know and we can go from there.

Compressor isnt turning at all dont know if i need new one or if i need new clutch how can i tell

The pulley on the compressor is always running when your engine is running, but the only time
it compresses the freon is when the clutch engages, if the compressor's pulley was not turning,
it would have already snapped a fan belt or your serpentine belt. voltage runs from your fuse box
thru your air condition switch on your dashboard to a low pressure switch that is located at the
accumulator a long cylinder, close to the firewall under the hood or close to the condensor, front
of the car. the switch detects freon pressure in the accumulator, if there is freon pressure, the switch
will stay closed and allow voltage to go to the compressor clutch to engage it and compress the freon,
if there is no freon pressure the switch will open, and there will be no voltage to air compressor, its a
saftey switch to keep your compressor from getting damaged.its possible that the switch could be bad
it may not have voltage at the switch, or it may be open because there is insufficient freon pressure.
check and make sure there is freon in the system.check for voltage at the low pressure switch if you have freon in your system and voltage at the pressure switch, set your ac on high, pull the molex off
the switch, and jump it out with a jumper wire, if the clutch engages and your car starts to cool, just
replace the switch. if the clutch engages but does not cool, then your ac system has some blockage
in the lines. if the clutch does not engage at all then it would be the compressor clutch. good luck!

I have a 02 lincoln ls . the air conditiong is not working . i took it to a local shop they check the compressor, fuses, relays, pressure swithches, all is checcking out good. They jump the compressor...

YOU COULD HAVE OPEN OR SHORT IN THE BLACK YELLOW WIRE GOING TO AC COMPRESSOR CYCLING PRESSURE SWITCH. CHECK FOR A SHORT OR OPEN IN RED YELLOW WIRES AT THE AC PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH. USE VOLT METER AND CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT BOTH SWITCHES. PROBLEM COULD BE IN THE EATC MODULE THAT SEND POWER TO PURPLE WIRE THAT FEEDS THE AC PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH AND AC CLUTCH CYCLING PRESSURE SWITCH THEN FEEDS THE AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH SOLENOID.

Clutch on comp will not engage tried jumping checked frion have 150 on high side 55 low side checked fuses even unpluged high pressure switch on back of comp.

if the Ac compressor clutch isnt engaging even with a hot wire then the solonoid has packed up if does engage then it could be a pressure safety switch although i would empty the system with my machine and weight the gas i take out as if less than 150 grms then it will not work ,never mind the pressure its the weight of gas in the system that makes the switch allow the compressor come on

My air conditioneing compressor isnt kicking on. id like to start by checking the fuse.maybe it is blown is there any advise on what else i should do?

I would start by jumping low pressure switch, switch sits on accumulator, will have two wire's, jump those two with engine on, and a/c on, if compr. kicks on, elec. is good, check for low on freon, and recharge if low.

On 1995 gmc safari we had a new compressor installed about 3 years ago and didnt have it charged. We added 134a (2) cans and the clutch isnt kicking on. we checked all the fuses and it seems to be holding...

Make sure the low pressure switch on the dryer is plugged up,and the connector on the clutch of the ac compressor, then the problem, might be the low pressure switch, jump the two wires going to it to find out.Rate if you would, thank you.

Charged a/c system no leaks compressor would not kick on held 30 minute vaccuum checked for leaks replaced condensor due to hitting a coon could not find low pressure switch to jump to kick compressor on

turn ac on with engine running check for power at the compressor if there isnt check for power at the low pressure switch if there is jump out the connection
the compressor should turn on the low pressure switch is usually located on the accumulator canister (SILVERY CANISTER) near the firewall.

Not getting power to the air condition compressor

did this just happen?? ck the cycling switch, its located at that big silver can on the pass side, in front of the firewall. if you wiggle the wires or tap on it, and the a/c compressor starts working, replace it.
