1991 olds 98.3800 motor. Where is the cam sensor?

it is located on the timing cover at the top. there is a plug connected to the sensor, its usually a 90 degree connector. there is also a magnet that is attached to the cam gear that sometime breaks off causing a cam sensor code to be set. with the cam sensor out using a mirror look into the hole and turn the engine over checking to see if the magnet is still fastened to the cam gear. the only way to replace this magnet is to replace the cam gear. in which case replace the timing gears and chain at the same time. the timing cover must come off.

2000 dodge neon will not start unless the cam shaft sensor is unplugged

I would go and but a cam sensor from the dealer. Aftermarket cam sensors can be slightly irregular. I had this happen to me with an aftermarket ABS sensor on a chevy. The whole problem was a gap difference equal to two sheets of paper. Whats happening is there is an open circuit in your old sensor that causes the check engine light but the new one has a good circuit but bad reading. I would say that is your problem.

I have a 91 olds Ninety eight regency elite Intermittently dies code 41 comes up cam sensor circut replaced cam sensor still dies could it be the crank sensor? thank you Michael Dale

cam sensor is only half of the cam circuit, the other half of the cam circuit is the magnet on the timing chain. the cam sensor reads from the magnet every time the engine completes a revolution,
what happens is the magnet on the chain will break into smaller piece which makes the sensor harder to read every time the engine make a complete revolution.
most likely you'll need to replace the timing chain to fix this.

2005 ford excursion cam sensor location I need to change the cam sensor and the crank sensors on my excursion and i do not know where they are located

On my 02 Excursion with the 7.3L Diesel, the Cam Position Sensor is located at the front bottom of the engine on the passengers side. There is one electrical pigtail plug that is attached and one bolt holds the sensor in position. It may be located in a similar location on your 05 Ex. I do not know where the crank sensor is located. I hope this helps.
