you need to set cylinder 1 to TDC. to do that you need to align the crank pulley's grove with the "0" on the cover. then you need to check your camshaft gear. it will have a pinhole in it that will align with a mark on the bearing cap behind the camshaft gear. if they don't line up you need to rotate the crank shaft 360 degrees and recheck.I can email it to you if you wish.
If it had a bolt, I'm assuming you have removed it. Some do, some don't. The only things holding it in is rust and an O ring. First lube it at where it goes into the block. Start twisting a bit and pulling it up. keep adding lube. Be patience, it will come out.
the question is --is the engine running and performing correctly
if the marks are off by one tooth then it was installed incorrectly but answer the first question--is it running good
if it is then the timing is correct or else the performance will be off
AS to the overheating and white smoke , have a compression test done as it could be a head gasket or cracked head
The relays are probably under the hood of your car .. if your hearing a noise coming from the door it is usually the solonoid trying to lock or unlock the door ..the solonoids are the device that kicks the lock on or off..you say you have only one locking or just what was going on . if you hear the solonoid kicking then that means you have power to there. how many doors are not working or how many are ? let me know and thanks Jerry ..

Will your blower fan kick on in the medium position by chance? Med/ med high..if it is a 4 position switch, does it operate in the number 3 position? If so it is probably your blower motor resistor. If not, I would test the blower motor itself. Since the compressor kicks on when you turn the fan on, I would think the switch is working.
