p0741 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Preformance or Stuck Off
what does this code mean and how do i fix it?
i have a 2005 toyota corolla se.
Toyota is aware of this situation. Production changes have ocurred to correct this condition.
Here is what you do: Take your vehicle to your Toyota dealer. Tell them that you have a P-0741 code, and you want them to apply "Toyota Technical Service bulletin TC008-04" to your vehicle. They will perform several tests, and if you vehicle is lower than 5 years old, and less than 60, 000 miles, they will fix it for free. This TSB is covered by the Powertrain Warranty. Additionally, Thay may replace the ECU with an updated unit, and that particular warranty is in effect for 96 months or 80,000 miles.
This will definatly cure your issue.

I need to replace the radio fuse on a 2005 Toyota Corolla. Where is the fuse located?
Pg. 250 of your 2005 Owner's Manual shows the location of the Fuse Boxes. There is one under your hood on the driver's side and the other is under the dash just to the left of steering wheel. Pg 272, will show you how to replace the fuses. Pg. 286-287 gives a diagram and description of each fuse and what part of the electrical system it enables.
This portion of the electrical system correspondeds to the fuse in position 32 on pg. 287 of the manual.
Your going to have to get on your back with a flashlight and open up the fuse box under the dash by the steering wheel. The lid of the fuse box shows the positions of the fuse and their amperage rating. Like I said, replace the fuse in postion 32 (15 Amp). There is a spare 15 Amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood (easy to get to, see the diagrams in the owner's manual). There is also a fuse puller tool next to the spare fuses.

why does my maintenance required light flashes 6 times after starting my 2005 toyota corolla?
its to let you know that its almost time to change your oil. it will stay on when the car has reached 5000 miles since your last oil change or since the light was last reset.

2005 toyota corolla motor oil capacity?
if you have a 1ZZ engine
4.2 quarts, 4.4 quarts with oil filter change
if you have the 2ZZ engine (XRS model) it is
4.4 quarts, 4.6 quarts with oil filter change
NOTE these are updated capacities that reflect changes identified in TSB: TSB-0134-08 issued July 15, 2008.
Your owners manual will reflect a lesser quantity that Toyota has since revised.

my trunk is stuck shut, how can i get it open? they key will not turn and the latch thing by the front near the gas release will not work either...
If you have rear seats that fold down you can access the latch mechanism from the left side rear seat....if you are flexible. pull the corner of the seat forward to allow your arm to slide in behind. about 14-16" in, feeling up inside the trunk you can feel 3 quarter size holes in the sheet metal. The second hole has the cable release arm. stick your finger up there are pull towards you. this will release the seat allowing it to fold down. Crawl into the trunk. there is a glow in the dark release handle on the inside of the trunk lid to open the trunk.

What is engine code P0171 for 2005 Toyota corolla?
What does that mean?
Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 1 detected a lean condition
(too much oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 1 is the side of
the engine that has cylinder #1.
Note: This DTC is very similar to P0174, and in fact
your vehicle may show both codes at the same time.
Symptoms
You will more than likely not notice any drivability problems, although there
may be symptoms such as a lack of power, detonation (spark knock), and/or a
hesitation/surge on acceleration.
Causes
A code P0171 may mean that one or more of the following
has happened:

Corolla 2005 P0741 Code -- 3 or 4 months ago my check engine Ligth is on. I continue using my car, because aparently it was in good condition. Now my car has 99,100 miles aprox. and the Transmission oil is dark color, like brown an feels rare. When I go to the DealerToyota they said thad the Transmission need to be rebuilded for $2,500. I have many time without changing the Transmission oil, i think that can be part of the problem. Looking for other version, I go to my Mechanic and he told me that I can change the Selenoid and the Transmission oil because this can solve the problem for less. Is that true? what you recommend?
The code means your lockup clutch is not working. You're not going into top gear and the transmission is slipping. This burns the oil, and burns extra gas.
Change the solenoid if it's truly broken, and see if the transmission goes into lockup and clears the error code. If so you've saved a lot. But you need to change the oil, too.

The primary hood latch is in the open position and moves freely, but doesn't seem to catch anything to make it stay shut. It's like the hood is permanently popped.
if you look down into the latch with a flash light you should see the hood release cable. it will be attached to a lever. if the lever is stuck all the way to the drivers side than the latch is sticking. Spray some penetrating lube into the latch and then use a thin blade screwdriver to help push it the other way. Continue to spray lubricant, pull the hood release, and move the lever with a screwdriver until it moves freely.
I kjnow this video is a ford but the mechanism is the same
