It would appear that there is air in it. Try turning all the way left, and then all the way right a few times, and see if that helps. That should be all you need to do if it really is air. Let me know if it persists.

This is fairly early in the codes department so the method will probably getting the engine light to flash the codes. It will take experience to decipher the codes so I would find an accredited specialist shop conversant with your vehicle and have the codes read. He will know if it has a data connection which makes the job easier and more accurate.

locate the temp sensor and disconnect it from the electrical connector. This should drop the gauge to zero. if this doesn't happen then you have a short in the circuit. if gauge drops, then replace sensor

Most likely the alternator is not charging properly, use a VOM set to battery voltage or slightl higher, check the voltage of the battery with the car not running. run The fault codes and check fuel pressure in the manifold . It is possible that there is a fuel shortage problem causing injector misfiring. Check fuel filter and tank venting ( canister )
