I have a 1995 hyundai

Older cars leak. It is a sad fact. Small amounts of oil, transmission fluid and coolant hot the exhaust or engine block will give off a "burning" smell. It is good to be concerned, but likely it is not a major issue. Make sure all the nuts and bolts are are properly tight, and perhaps wipe down the reachable parts of the engine to help reduce the burn smell. As for the check engine light, most reputable auto parts stores can connect a small computer diagnostic tool to your car for free. It will give them any codes that have been set in your cars computer. Once those codes are written down ( have a pen and paper ready ) the can clear out the codes with their scanner and the "check engine light" should go away.

I would like a manual for a hyundai xl so i can

It depends on what you want to fix. If it's a fairly common repair for cars in general then a Haynes manual will most likely give you what you need. They have good descriptions and photos or diagrams to help the back yard mechanic. They also include tips and hints to make the job easier and warnings if something needs to be done in a specific way.
If you need to do something like rebuild the engine or repair the transmission or something else major, then you may want to look into getting the original service manual for the car. That can be gotten at faxonautoliterature.com. They list a mechanical manual as well as one for electrical. Haynes is not good at providing wiring diagrams so if that is what you are wanting then go to faxon.
You could also look at alldatadiy.com. It costs about $30 a year and is vehicle specific. The info you get will be for your specific car only. They assume that you have a working knowledge of car repairs, so tips and hints are not to be found although they do have good diagrams, a lot of exploded views. However, they are similar to Haynes and there will be repairs that aren't included in their info.
Hope this helps.

My trunk is stuck closed,

On a sedan the only access to the tail light cluster is usually through the trunk. Sorry, but you are going to have to get your trunk open unless you can remove the back seat back rest and get into the trunk that way.

Are you asking where the actual fuel pump is? You will need to remove the back seat and you will find an access panel. Remove it and there is your fuel pump. The actual relay for the fuel pump will be in a box under the hood marked fuel pump. Let me know if this helps.
