LOCATION OF FUEL PUMP RELAY HYUNDAI EXCEL 96 MODEL
Are you asking where the actual fuel pump is? You will need to remove the back seat and you will find an access panel. Remove it and there is your fuel pump. The actual relay for the fuel pump will be in a box under the hood marked fuel pump. Let me know if this helps.

How do I get to the flasher unit on my hyindai excel
I recently had the same problem (Aust Excel 1998).
The panel on the right side of your steering wheel where the dash light dimmer and fog light switches are located, will lever out with a small flat bladed screwdriver. Pull it out gently and position it out of your way.
You will find the flasher can directly behind this panel (within reaching distance) - the can is the square plastic box about 2.5cm square and 4cm tall.
It will release by squeezing the two plastic retaining clips on either side (toward the bottom) and pulling outward.
I recommend you get a genuine (or as close to the manufacturers specifications as possible) replacement (around $35-$50 AUS), these are usually garaunteed and some inferrior replacements don't work (I tried one).
I also found that my original was repairable (sign of repairable was intermittent operation). If you are capable with a soldering iron, disassemble and look for cracks in the solder joints (wobble some components, especially around the bi-metalic strip) - resolder any cracked joints.
Hopefully this should get you out of trouble.

I have a 98 Excel and all of a sudden the indicator lights aren't working, I am not sure if this is a fuse problem or what? But obviously need to get it fixed asap!
your hazard button and your turn signals run throw the hazard switch. The hazard switch goes bad and you may need to replace it.

I have a Hyundai Getz and cannot imobilise the car alarm. The remote will not lock the doors and when i open the door the alarm goes off. The remote light illuminates when i press the button suggesting that it is operating ok. Any suggestions about what the problem is?
it may be worth while changing the battery in the remote as it takes more power to send the frequency to disarm than to illuminate the l.e.d.

the transmission sounds like it is stuck in 3rd gear also the overdrive quit working at the same time. i do have reverse but no 1st or 2nd gear. i have tried to manually shift from 1st and still nothing. please help because this is driving me crazy.
You need to check the transmission fluid level, if it is low the tranny will not shift. If, however, the fluid is to the proper level then you will need a new transmission.
Try putting new fluid in and look for a leak in the pan gasket, then all you may need is a transmission service. When the service is done the mechanic will look for pieces of metal in the old fluid, if found this is very bad and you will need a new tranny.
You might consider a new or used car, you can definately find a good deal out there!

I'm trying to replace both outside handle on a Hyundai 1997 Hatch, but cannot workout how to remove the inside window winder handle. Do I need special tools ? Where can I get a diagram on the mechanism ?
Thanks
Tony
I have to do the same with my door handle on my excel. The Window winder is held on by a sort of circlip thingy and they do make a special tool to remove it, and i would reccommend buying it or even borrowing one from a local mechanic. it is possible to remove it with a screwdriver and some wire but it is very hard and fiddly as you have to do it blind.

how d i change a clutch in a hyundai excel 1997
We start by removing front Constant Volocity Joints then dropping the transmision to access the cluch assembly then we remove the pressure plate then clutch disk is removed be advized since your replacing the cluck replace hardware too e.g. clips and thrust bearing and pilot bearing to complete the job! good luck!

I am wondering if there are achorage points fitted for a child restraint in the Hyundai Excel 98, Hatchback model and if so how many and where can I locate them - Thanks I have lost my manual
I have found the anchor points on my car, and would suggest they would be in the same place on yours. Mine are on the inside back panel, as in the panel behind the rear break lights / indicators etc, inside the boot. You should see, in amongst the other irregular shaped holes, three holes into what appears to be more solid parts of the plate. They are positioned one behind each of the 3 rear seat positions to allow you to choose where you are placing your seat. The anchor just screws directly into these holes.
