MOtor is racing code

P0113 - Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input
The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the temperature of the air entering the engine. The PCM supplies a 5 volt reference voltage to the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. The IAT is a thermistor that varies resistance based on temperature. As the temperature increases, resistance decreases. Low temperature results in a high signal voltage. When the PCM sees a signal voltage higher than 5 volts, it sets this P0113 check engine light code.

Potential Symptoms: There will likely be no symptoms other than illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL - Check Engine Light / Service Engine Soon).

Causes: A code P0113 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Internally failed IAT sensor
Faulty connection at IAT sensor
Open in IAT ground circuit or signal circuit
Short to voltage in IAT signal circuit or reference circuit
IAT harness and/or wiring routed too close to high-voltage wiring (e.g. alternator, spark plug cables, etc.)
Faulty PCM (less likely but not impossible)

Possible Solutions:
First, if you have access to a scan tool, is there an IAT reading? If the IAT reading is logical then the problem is likely intermittent. If the reading is less than -30 degrees, unplug the connector. Install a jumper wire between the harness connector signal and ground circuits. The IAT temperature reading on the scan tool should be maxed out at the high end. For example it should be 280 degrees Farenheit or higher. If it is, the wiring is okay, and it may have been the connection. If it isn't install the jumper wire between the IAT signal circuit and the chassis ground.

If now the IAT reading on the scan tool is maxed out then check for an open in the IAT ground circuit. If you get no reading at all on the scan tool, it's likely that the sensor signal is open or the 5 volt reference is missing. Check using a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter) for a 5 volt reference. If it's there, then unplug the connector at the PCM and check for continuity on the IAT signal circuit between the PCM connector and the IAT connector.

Hope this helps (remember to rate this answer).

2001 Saturn LW200 engine revving

It may be something that only happens when the cars is driven for a while. They need to test drive the car and try to duplicate the conditions when the revving took place, such as what speed were you driving at the time, were you accelerating or cruising at a steady speed, was the cruise control in use. I'll try to research the problem to see if it is a common occurrence with your vehicle model.

2001 Saturn LW200 engine revving

This sounds like the Throttle Positioning Sensor. Or the throttle cable is getting caught and not returning to the idle position. This should be easy for a mechanic to troubleshoot. And should be a relatively cheap problem to fix.

P1811 - Maximum Adapt And Long Shift

The p1811 is a code that indicates that even though the Transmission line pressure solenoid is being commanded to full line pressure, the shift is still taking too long. The fix for this is to replace the line pressure solenoid. VERY common repair. About a $900.00 repair give or take. The side cover has to come off the trans to do this repair; the trans stays put. The subframe needs to be lowered partially but not completely removed. Any trans shop should be able to do this for you.

I suggets visit again yur dealer and try to find anread the TSB:
Bulletin Number: 40730020
Bulletin Date: 20040401
Category: 100000 POWER TRAIN
Summary: SERVICE VEHICLE SOON LAMP ILLUMINATED WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P1811 MAXIMUM ADAPT AND LONG SHIFTS. *TT

Hope helps.

I have a 2003 saturn

Often it is the end that plugs into the motor that fails as it is subjected to the most heat and vibration. If you can do a OHMs test it will tell you if the actual block heater is Ok. I would just try changing the whole block heater cord and then try to find a friend with a OHMs tester if it still does not work.. If you can follow the cord down with your fingers it is usually not difficult to unplug or re instate.

Engine dies when warm...... I

There's two thing's that will make an engine die fuel and spark to spark plug,s. Best to check when no start, will need two to check, remove spark plug wire, while some one crank engine check for spark, if no spark replace crankshaft sensor, if you do have spark at end of spark plug wire your need to check for injector pulsation, disconnect one of the injector's harness, with test light probe both wire's while cranking engine one should have voltage and the other should have neg. pulsation, if you have pulsation ok, if not bad computer, replace. How if it just dies out and will restart at stop's more the likely you have a bad idle speed control motor replace it.

How to replace leaking water pump

well if your talking about the 4 cylinder 2.2 liter,,youre gonna need a special tool that saturn has,its a holding fixture tool for the timing chain because the chain drives the water pump and you must remove the water pump pulley from the pump but you must keep the chain in place with this holding tool,it keeps the chain and pulley in place,,,,youre gonna have to find that tool either from the saturnvservice shop or maybe aftermarket, the only other way to do it is remove all the timing chains and then remove pump,,,,
