1997 jaguar XK8 My tail lights do not work. I
You've done most of the steps I would have so far... Now use a meter and trace the wires backward. Sounds like a broken or chewed up wire along the route backwards. Also try a separate wire with power to see if you can deliver power to those lights. If they work, albeit temporary for the test, you grounds are good. If one works and the other does not, then THAT ONE has a ground loss. In any case, you have it narrowed down, and I would hope that by now you may have your answer. How do i flush the hydrolic system for the

What is range means on the message center?
Driving Range or Distance you can go at average mileage and amount of fuel in the gas tank. One of the items that will display if you poke one of the buttons to the right of the top of the speedometer.
Lambda sensor
this is a common prob what was the fault code logged ?there are 4 sensors on these cars 2 on each bank upstream and downsteam the issue is the ecm tries to compensate for one bank that is out of limits using the fuel control of the other bank to try and keep overall emissions within limits.this makes diagnosis difficult without proper diagnostic equip.at the last count genuine jag. sensors are EXPENSIVE and cheap pattern ones are not that good.advise. find someone with jag diagnostic equip. identify the problem
Battery overcharge
I would think that your vehicle has a voltage regulator built into the alternator, but I am not sure. I do not have alot of Jag experience. But this sounds like what your problem is. The voltage regulator is stuck and making the alternator put out full charge and wreaking havoc with your electrical system.

check the lever if any that opens the boot might not have gone down to its normal position. put to normal position and try.

The car might be stucked in Valet mode. Use the black key that you have to open the trunk, it overrides the
Valet Mode. The key goes in a hole that is between the X and the K on
the emblem on the rear of the car.

After driving all day STABILITY
the module is pretty simple to replace it pretty much plug and play....just make sure you unplug the neg battery terminal while installing it...my advice is to find one from ebay and diy....you should be able to get one for under 300 bucks...Good luck with my friend...if I can help you in anyway let me know...
My mechanic told me that
The timing is determined by the BCM (the Body Control Module) based on sensors that determine the position of the elements of the roof and the windows. If the timing is off then either some of the sensors are sending bad data (or none at all) or the firmware of the BCM is corrupted.
So no, there is no way to do a reset because that possibility simply doesn't exist. You first need to find out what caused the bad timing by testing the sensors and the BCM with a special code reader. Then you need to replace the failed sensors or fix their wiring and finally reload a new firmware in the BCM. This is a job that only a very well equipped repair shop can do (or a dealer) so a visit to one is mandatory.
