Starter wiill not even engage turned the key on and nothing ran fine when I parked it and got up in the morning and wont even tur n over. Brand new battery

Hmm, possible problems: - starter or starter solenoid defective. - neutral switch or wiring thereto defective. Shift selector has to be in Park or Neutral to start. Sometimes brake pedal has to be pressed also for starter to turn. - remote starter system defective (if you have this) This would be hard to diagnose. I would first confirm if the starter works by putting 12V directly from positive pole on battery to positive connector on starter solenoid (use jumper cable, and wear goggles in case of massive sparking when you accidentally touch ground.)

I have a 2002 chrysler sebring, I installed a new ignition switch, car starts and runs, but won't turn off or lock, and the key won't come out. CAN YOU HELP ME?

it may be your shift selector its not going all the way in park. you can adjust it at the transmission neutral safety switch . loosen the cable bolt at the neutral safety switch then force it in park. with the key on but not running... the key should be able to be removed out . then tighten the nut back on the neutral safety switch.. fixed!! its e.z..10 minute job

02 sebring t/s flasher locate

The flasher itself is right beneath and beside the hazard switch. To get to it, look underneath the steering column, just behind the steering wheel. On the bottom of the plastic cover that the turn signal lever, wiper lever, and hazard switch protrude from you will see two deeping drilled holes, at the bottom of each you will see a Phillips head screw. Remove these two screws, and pull the two plastic pieces apart. It may take some force as the two pieces are somewhat snapped together on the sides. Once you have removed these two pieces, you will be able to clearly see the flasher on the top isde of the column. It will be on the passenger's side of center, it's prongs plugging into the switch from the front. If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/cynthia_0eebb7da17b33b5e

I have fault codes P1684 & P0340 on my 2002

P1684 The battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts.

P0340

This indicates that a problem was detected in the camshaft position sensor circuit. Since it says circuit, that means the problem could lie in any part of the circuit - the sensor itself, the wiring, or the PCM. Don't just replace the CPS (camshaft position sensor) and think that will definitely fix it.
Symptoms Symptoms can include:
  • Hard starting or no start
  • Rough running / misfiring
  • Loss of engine power
Causes A code P0340 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
  • a wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken
  • the camshaft position sensor may have failed
  • the PCM may have failed
  • there exists an open circuit
  • the crankshaft position sensor may have failed
Possible Solutions With a P0340 OBD-II trouble code, diagnosis can be tricky at times. Here are some things to try:
  • Visually inspect all the wiring and connectors in the circuit
  • Check for continuity in the circuit wiring
  • Check the operation (voltage) of the camshaft position sensor
  • Replace the camshaft position sensor as required
  • Check the crankshaft position circuit as well
  • Replace circuit wiring and/or connectors as required
  • Diagnose/replace the PCM as required
