Starter will not engagew

First check fuses, then if your battery cables are conected and not cut, if anything else do as all the old timers say hit it and see if it works or new school like us take it to get tested for free at ANY major auto parts store

Mildew smell in car from AC

Sounds like the evaporator coil, or a hose to it is leaking inside the car. Do you see water on the ground with the car sitting and the air on? Maybe the drain is clogged? Mold build up has clogged drain?

Electric window 1991 prelude goes down but won'come up

No easy fix, or override for that. You have to pull the inner door panel off and hot wire the window motor to get the window up. With the panel off, you can diagnose the problem, maybe a broken feed wire where it enters the door.

1988 honda prelude no start

If you are carburator or fuel injection you should have a tach meter hopefully it works. Crank the engine does the tach slighty move this small movement tell us if you have spark. You state no spark at coil 3 item that wont allow spark to happen the magnetic pick up the ignitor and the coil itself.Or even the distributor cap itself. 2 main failure for no spark is the ignitor itself. and the magnetic pick up2_23_2012_6_54_27_am.gif

What could be the problem for cold starts on a honda prelude 01'?

Worn spark plugs, a defective coolant temperature sensor, or a defective auxiliary air valve [aka fast idle thermo valve] would be the first items to check.

NEED REPAIR MANUEL TO INSTALL

Go to autozone.com and register. It is free, and after you do it, they ask you about your cars. Once you enter a vehicle into your "garage", you get to access an online repair manual for free. You can view diagrams and even print articles. They are not the most complete manuals i have ever seen (go with Haynes for that), but they are very good and completely free of charge. You are unlikely to get a better manual for free!

i hope this helps

Hi , I have 1985

On the 85 model the speedometer and odometer are driven by a cable. This cable must have broken and will need replaced. Check the speedo cable where it connects to both the speed sensor and the back of the gauge cluster to make sure that the little prongs on the end of the speedo cable are fitting into the matching holes on each end of the connection. sometimes it slips out and loses its connection causing the gauges to go dead. Last but not least if the cable is good the the instrument cluster will need replaced. The VSS or speed sensor is on the transmission, the cable connets to this and to the gauges. If it were me I would get a new sensor and new cables which is cheaper than having a mechanic work on this, if the issue is not fixed then the guages must be replaced and these can be found at salvage yards or on the net as many years are interchangable.

Could you Please explain to

Hi.

Accessing that hose is a bit of a pain in the.... The hose is accessed from underneath the car. First you need to take off the air filter housing and the thermostat housing, thhen you finish the work working under the car. undoing the bolts that hold the the pipe and cutting or undoing thef heater hose and oil cooler hose (the hoses must be replaced afterward). Replace hoses and O rings keeping the hoses in place to finish the job.

Regards.

Cold motor starts good, but

Does your cars motor crank over when it is warm? If the motor will not even crank over chances are that your starter is bad. I am sorry I could not be of more help, but I need more information before I can be of any further assistance. Hopefully this helps you out and at least gives you a place to start.

How to change the fluid

Open the engine hood.

There will be several fluid reservoirs under the bonnet. If the car / truck has power steering, one of them will hold about 150-300ml of fluid that should be a red color. If you put some on your hand it is very slippery.

The other reservoirs will hold water for the windscreen washer, and one connected to the radiator to hold coolant.

Check that the reservoir you intend to put the power steering fliud in is not connected to the radiator and does not contain water.

Take the cap off to check.

If you can't see in to the bottom, roll up some kitchen paper towel and feed that in until you get some fluid on it - red, you hope!

There will be marks (horizontal lines) on the side of the reservoir showing "Min" (minimum) and "Max" (maximum or full). Slowly pour in replavcement fliud until the tiop of the fluid is between the marks.. Put the cap back on, close the engine hood, drive for a short distance (2 km?) and check the levels again.

Top up the reservoir to just under "Max". Replace the cap.

Check the level after a short period of normal driving - a couple of weeks, If it is still going down a mechanic needs to check the power steering seals.

good luck.

I have a 1989 Honda

I would say that this is a wiring issue. You would have to inspect the wiring underneath the dashboard and the one that leads to the gas tank. One is the power for fuel pump and the other is for the floater for the gauge. Check for loose wires especially for exposed conductors or worn out insulation. The wire might be touching the wire for the blinker causing the issue you are seeing.
