P0601 internal controller malfunction
Isnt good; the bad news is, this is an
internal failure. Sometimes you can clear the code and it won't return.
But most of the time you need to replace the PCM. Something inside the
logic get garbled and throws that code.
Good news...the PCM is an emissions related component. I believe it
is covered under warranty for 8 years or 80,000 miles. Check with your
dealer. Just like catalytic converters and such.
P0601 - Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error
Basically that means that there is an interal fault in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). There have been many reported PCM failures on Chrysler/Dodge products although it is possible for this to happen on any vehicle. In Dodge/Chrysler products, a P0601 trouble code means that a serial communication failed inside the computer at least 6 times.
Likely, no symptoms will be discernible to the driver, other than the illuminated Check Engine Light. Typically the engine runs fine, gauges work, etc.
Causes: A code P0601 in most cases means the PCM has gone bad. This is possibly due to a short-circuit inside the PCM. Or, if you disconnect the wires/connector from the PCM while the battery is still connected, that may also cause this code.
Possible Solutions: With a P0601 OBD-II trouble code, the most common fix is to replace and reprogram the PCM. In a few cases the dealer may be able to reflash the PCM and get it working. But more than likely the PCM will need to be replaced and reprogrammed (we recommend you take it to a dealership for this). The good news is it *may* be covered under your emmissions warranty. So even if you're out of bumper-to-bumper warranty or powertrain warranty, check your warranty guide or dealer to see if this is covered.
Other people have reported that they cleared the code only for it to return again and again. Keep in mind that most shops can replace the PCM but not all can program it.
Hope this helps (remember to rating this answer and leave some testimonial comment).
Power steering not working
Hi there, check to see if your power steer reservoir is full, if so then your power steer pump has failed, they usually make a noise when low on fluid, that would be the first place I would check, then check for and fluid leak from the reservoir , hope this helps
Wipers stopped working, changed motor, control arm and fuses, wipers still not working, changed to other fuses and now car wont go past first gear, before i change the fuse it was driving fine now my
It is almost a sure thing that you have put a lower amperage fuse in a higher amperage socket.
To verify, look at the fuse box cover, it usually has a legend of what fuse goes where, and what the amperage is.
Make sure that you put 15A fuses in 15A slots etc.
Also make sure that the fuses are not burned out, look for the little piece of metal that make the connection, and make sure its intact.
Engine stalls while drving
Have the computer scanned for trouble codes. If a fault code is set, post them here, or google the code to get descriptions. You should have the fuel pressure checked to see if it is at proper pressure. A weak or tired, old pump just may not be getting the pressure needed. There would be a specific pressure required for your car, but multiport injection is usually about 40-50 psi. If a shop tests pressure for you, they can find your required pressure, and then check for it..
2000 crysler Concorde 2.7 will not start lights
There are cheap OBDII testers at Walmart 30 Bucks you can pull the codes yourself to see what it says. Also AutoZone will rent these for a deposit when you bring it back the give you your deposit back.If the engine turns over and is not starting I would check the Cam sensor first then the crank sensor. Each spark plug has its own Coil on top of it. These do not fail often rendering the auto in a no start condition. Another thing to check is the Fuel Pressure regulator this holds the Fuel rail pressure at an optimum firing pressure to get best spray from the injector if it is low or just simply not building up pressure this could be some of the problem, (BUT) this still in most cases allows the engine to run it will do so just poorly. Also if you can not remember when you changed the fuel filter last try this as well a dirty fuel filter can stop a engine from running. And last but not least just because you hear the fuel pump coming on does not mean it is operating how it should and producing the correct pressure threw the fuel system. The pressure should be tested to see where it is at. Remember to rate my solution and give testimonial this is how i earn my achievements here on FixYa if you need any help for the tests above i can assist you further. Thanks in advance
