How can I locate TDC after timing cover removed?

Locate cylinder number 1 after searching for year make model firing order Remove spark plugs. Then turn the engine over. Look for the valves on cylinder 1 to be both closed. In the old days, we would hold a long pencil in the plug hole of number 1 and watch it rise and then fall. At the top of the rise is TDC, which should correspond to the marks. The proper way is to have a micrometer that fits into the spark plug threads but the marks will be close enough.

Could be battery or more likely it needs a new starter. The starter has nothing to do with care safety. Buy a new starter not rebuilt or junkyard started. Labor for new starter or maybe starter is the same. You might get lucky and rebuilt starter lasts but it doesn't the labor is paid again.

I bought a T/3 T4 T3 turbo charger 2.25" 4 bolt

Turbo manifold, blow off valve, waste gate, intercooler, turbo timer, piggyback or standalone ECU, most likely an all new exhaust system, new intake, filter. An oil cooler may be needed, as those turbo chargers are most likely cooled and lubricated by the oil in the engine, needing to be piped through the turbo itself.

Nissan maxima has check engine light on and is losing acceleration on the road.

If this is a deisel then it's probably some sensor malfunction. It could be one of the sensors in the exhaust system or a simple electrical fault - I have been told it can happen if even just one brake-light bulb is broken

I have a knocking noise, that sounds like it is

TWO mechanics and they can't identify the problem, just throw parts at it? This could be caused by many things. If the noise occurs all the time, i.e. even when idling, that's something in the engine. Try this: using a LARGE (say 12" long) screwdriver, place the tip on the engine, and the handle on your ear. The screwdriver acts like a stethoscope. You may be able to locate the noise location more precisely. If the noise is a light ticking, that could be a worn or maladjusted tappet. If its a heavy and loud knock, its something more serious. Loose front pulley bolts, AC compressor failure, loose alternator bolts all come to mind. Look for a local expert on your make of car, obviously NOT the dealer.
