2006 Ford Explorer shifts hard between 2nd & 3rd gears, both up & down, but shifts normal between 1st & 2nd, and in & out of overdrive. All was normal then almost not working the next

It sounds as though your valve body may have a lot of particulates that have entered into it causing the valves to act sluggishly. Unfortunately, this is a condition that can only be taken care of by your mechanic and is not something that the average person can fix themselves.

2006 explorer dies did crank and crank replaced fuel pump and starter now when starting instrument pannel goes blank

The first thing to do would be to have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Not at auto zone , thier diagnostic system can not pull codes from BCM - body control module or from the instrument cluster . Are you familiar with C.A.N . - controller area network ? All the control modules on your vehicle talk to one another on a serial data bus or network . Your vehicle has a number of these modules , PCM - engine computer , SJB - smart junction box , air bags , ABS , An someothers . All the instrument gauges and the lighting happen over this data bus . How to Diagnose Controller Area Network CAN Your best bet mite be to take it to the dealer or some other qualified repair shop .

2006 ford explorer door hinge

I'd imagine that is common, there is usually a catch, that helps hold the door open so it won't swing shut on you. I don't know if catch is replaceable or you can try lubrication on it, see if it helps?

You may be able to braze (2) 1/2 in. copper 90 degree water fittings back to back to install as a jumper. Install jumper well ahead of bad hoses. I have never seen a stopped up heater core. Replace any suspect hoses and temp control valves.

I have a 06 ford explorer an it will not come out of park even when the brakes are pushed down it will not budge

Shift interlock problem sounds like . Does your explorer have floor mounted shifter ? Shift Interlock System The shift interlock system prevents the shifting from PARK unless the brake pedal is depressed. The shift interlock system consists of a shift lock actuator mounted on the floor shifter. If the ignition switch is in the RUN position, the shift lock actuator is disabled when the brake pedal is depressed. If the selector lever will not move out of park with the key in the ON position, it will need to be unlocked manually. Symptom Chart Condition Possible Sources Action
  • Shift interlock system does not release/lock correctly
  • Shift interlock switch
  • Circuit(s)
  • Fuse(s):
    • F20 (10A)
    • F22 (15A)
  • Shift lock actuator
  • Brake pedal position (BPP) switch
  • Go To Pinpoint Test A .
PINPOINT TEST A: SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEM DOES NOT RELEASE/LOCK CORRECTLY Test Step Result / Action to Take A1 TEST THE BRAKE LIGHTS

  • Disconnect: Brake Pedal Position (BPP) Switch.
  • Measure the resistance between pin 1 and ground.
  • Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes GO to A4 . No REPAIR circuit for short to ground. TEST the system for normal operation. A4 TEST THE CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
  • Measure the resistance between SJB C2280E-28 and brake pedal position switch connector pin 1.
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes GO to A5 . No REPAIR circuit for open. TEST the system for normal operation. A5 TEST THE BPP SWITCH
  • Measure the resistance of BPP switch while open (OFF) and closed (ON).
  • Is the resistance of switch greater than 10,000 ohms while OFF and less than 5 ohms while ON?

Heater fan runs when heater is off.06 ford expoler

Automatic or manual climate control ?
  • The blower motor does not operate correctly - manual climate control
  • Circuitry short
  • A/C blower motor resistor
  • A/C blower motor switch
  • Blower motor high speed relay
  • Go To Pinpoint Test O .
  • The blower motor does not operate correctly - EATC
  • Circuitry short/open
  • A/C blower motor speed control
  • EATC module
  • Go To Pinpoint Test Q .
Pinpoint Test Q: The Blower Motor Does Not Operate Correctly - EATC Normal Operation Under normal operation, the blower motor control module receives a 1-2 volt signal from the EATC module through circuit CH218 (GN/VT) to determine the desired blower motor speed. The EATC module receives a feedback voltage from the blower motor control module through circuit VH219 (GY) to determine actual blower motor speed. When the highest blower motor setting is selected, the EATC module sends 12 volts to the blower control module through circuit CH217 (BN).
    Possible Causes
  • An open, short to voltage, ground or together in circuits CH218 (GN/VT), VH219 (GY) or circuit CH217 (BN)
  • Blower motor control module
  • EATC module
  • If automatic HVAC system i would suspect Blower motor control module .

I have a 2006 Ford explorer with codes p0740, p0743, and p1189 stored. Been working with this to determine if anybody has ever ran into this concern before.

Just by process of elimination you have a fault in the wiring harness to the transmission.
