No power. slight miss at idle.

did you unplug the wire behind the distributor before you timed it?
if not try that and retime it then plug it back in also you might go ahead and replace the knock sensor. I know you checked it

If you look at the fuse panel there are two silver 30 amp fuses on the right side or there should be. they are in the blocks marked POWER with the arrows pointing to the right. One is for the windows the other is for the power door locks. Not sure which is which try both hope this helps.

1990 chevy silverado fuel pump

It does seem to be a fuel problem, If your engine is fuel injected the fuel pump is in the gas tank. As far as the ground it is grounded through its harness and mounting.. First thing I would do is put a fuel gauge on the fuel rail fitting and check fuel pressures. Pump wil run for a few seconds when the key is turn ON., and then stop ( assuming its working ) A lack of pressure willindicate an inop pump, or even possibly a clog in the fuel filter. Let me know.

EGR valve problem or possible fuel pump problem.
Have fuel pressure check if good then go after the EGR Valve this controlls idle and could be carbon up. Clean with carbon cleaner or replace located on throttle body.
