I recommend you check the fuel pressure regulator diaphragm for proper installation and tears. Did you get a new one with your rebuild kit?

You first need to check the fuel pressure, an easy way to access this is to buy a can of spray starting fluid, spray it into the TBI throttle valve and if the truck starts and dies you have no fuel pressure. Replace the fuel; pump, and make sure you get the right pump, it is a low pressure system.

Hi Laura, One of the easiest ways to get wiring diagrams is to go to Autozone website and sign up as a Do It Yourselfer, Autozone owns Alldata. They are one of the largest companies that provide Wiring diagrams, etc, for pretty much everything on the road and it's free. Hope this helps, Good Luck, Randy.

Check the ground at the coil. If ground is good. check for ground at the distributor module. If both are good, you have bought a bad part. Both can be checked.

I would take it to a good mechanic and have him check to see if it needs a tune up or if it has jumpt time. Sometimes the timming chain will stretch if the engene has a lot of miles on it.

Normally there are bolts on the latch and in the pins on the tailgate itself. You might have to adjust all 4 of them in order to make the rattling stop

Have you checked/replaced the O2 sensor(s). They produce the data that your computer reads. Bad/clogged O2 sensors will trick the ECU into running lean/rich.

You'll need to remove the bolts on the motor mounts and jack up the front of the engine to get enough clearance to get the pan clear once all the pan bolts are removed.
