Changed the belt on the alternator on the 2001 mazda millenia and another circle peice behind the alterantor fell off .

Sounds like the alternator pully broke. If so then you need a new alternator.

Why won't it start?

hit a patch of snow. you ran over some snow or the car did a major jump in the air from hitting the snow? If the car had a major thrashing around then it could be any electrical connection that runs the engine .

Smell gas usually at a stop or slow speed

Ray has the best idea. But you can check. Look for any wet spots under the car. Start it, let it run for a minute or two. Back it straight up and check for spots. The spots will give a close proximity of the leak. If no spots, quit driving the vehicle. Check it or have it towed to a shop for checks.

Horn stopped working and airbag signal on dash keeps flashing

Sounds like you will have to remove the steering wheel to find out if the carbon slip rings are shot . But before you do that maybe you should look under the dash where the steering column comes down to see if there are any wires disconnected or plugs that had pulled apart . by the way I'd look on youtube about pulling the steering wheel as the airbag has special procedures to remove it as you don't want it to go off while you are working on it .

Coolant loss with no trace

Doesn't sound good at all. If the water is not running out on the ground on the floor, it can only be going into the engine or out the exhaust pipe. Have a look at the oil dipstick and see what level the oil is at. If you add water and the level increase, you know the water is going into the engine. If this happens, it turns the oil a milky white. Get it fixed fast before it destroys your engine. The other end of the car, check the exhaust pipe and see if water is coming out there. These faults indicate a cracked head, blown head gasket or blown water jacket. the last thing to check is if your car is an automatic with an oil cooler in the radiator, it could be filling the auto transmission with water... Another disastrous thing to happen... If there is any reddish coloured fluid in the radiator or if the transmission fluid has gone a milky brown colour, that could be the problem. Either way, hidden losses of coolant usually mean major repairs...

If it wasn't a problem before you touched it, I would suggest that you didn't put the cable back where it was before. Have a look for old marks or dirt buildup to see if any have moved from before. Its possible that the shift lever moved when you removed the cable and now its out of alignment. I would loosen off the cable, put the drive into park and then tighten up the cable again and see if that works. You may have to play with the cable to get it in the correct position. It always pays to use a marker pen or take a photo of anything that you are unfamiliar with before you take it apart so that you can confirm you have put it back the same way.
