TRIES TO START BUT WONT.
If its trying to start but won't, it sounds like a fuel problem. was it running good before? if it just turns over with no fire, then it could be a few things. could be the pump relay, pressure reg, or the pump. a relay is about$12, pressure reg @$50, and a pump @$90, in which case you'll have to drop the tank or take the bed off. hope this helps
I have 2005 ranger
check your oil level and if its still on you may have another issue to address.
I ran out of gas
I would recommend you change the fuel filter and then see if it will start with at last 3 gallon of fuel in the tank. If it still will not start try using some spray starter fluid to get it going.

You could check your TPS, throttle position sensor, its located on the Airhorn. The TPS controls the amount of fuel you get from the Injectors when you put your foot on the pedal. If you have access to a fuelpump pressure gauge you could test the pump output. (Sometimes Autozone and Oreillys have Loaner tools.) Another tool would be an Injector light or use a Voltmeter on an Injector harness.
If you have fuelpump pressure, You need the Injectors working.
When you go to put on the new gas filter, slip a piece of hose on the pumpline and see if you have pressure. You could get a jar and even do a fueltest. The engine should at least "hit" with a trickle of fuel, so any pressure should be enough for the motor to fire.
Check simple things like fuses, your MAF sensor in the Air Intake. If no success you are down to the "Wiggle" test.
My 2005 ford ranger a/c is not working all the
My AC quit all of a sudden and it was a switch in the ac line. It was located on one of the air conditioner lines almost next to the firewall. Looked like a little box. When the p/u was running and the ac was turned on, I tapped it with a screwdriver handle and the ac compressor came on. I think it was a low pressure switch and is supposed to keep the ac from running without any freon, so you might try that. Best of luck.<!-- from fixya rte -->

Sounds like you are talking about the bearing grease/dust cap on the hub. There are special pliers made to remove them but if a pair of cap pliers is not available to you you can use a sharpened flathead screwdriver or a flat chisel and a hammer to pop them free. You will notice a small lip on the cap where it meets the rotor. You will need to place the edge of the chisel there and GENTLY tap it to wedge it out from the rotor. Slowly tap the chisel in the gap and pry the cap out. Work your way around the cap prying it out evenly and be careful not to distort the cap. When you replace the cap you can just tap it back into place with a hammer. Again tap gently as not to distort the cap's shape. No sealant or anything is needed.
Replaced back shopes on ford ranger 2006. seem to
You have either the self adjusting mechanisms too tight or the E brake cables are sticking or incorrectly adjusted. It could also be a siezed wheel cylinder as well. I would doubt the later if it was both wheels though I would not totally discount the possibly. Did you get grease, oil, or brakefluid on the shoes? Was one shoe smaller that the other. They could be on backwards. Some brakes have a primary and a secondary shoe. The larger shoe goes to the rear.
Fuel pump on my 05
It depends on what kind of unit it is, if it's the type where you can just change the pump, or if it's the type where you have to buy the whole unit. Price of pump or unit can run from $80.00 to over $200.00, in this area anyway. In any case the gas tank has to dropped to do it.Repair shop rates can go from $60.00 an hour to $100.00 an hour.
When i am driving my 2005 ford ranger the radio
I have had the same problem with my 2007.
Going to the dealer, they did not found the cause and charge me for 2 hrs invstigation. ($200).
Finnaly I found the source of the problem by myself.
Water entering in the right door and falling on the speaker. + drain holes blocked at the bottom of the door by antirust compound.
Cleaning the drain holes, almost 1.5 liter of water flowing from the inside of the door. 2 days after, door interior drying, the radio start to work normally.
