Engine idles high like it has a automatic
first thing to check is the base gasket on the bottom of the throttle body.if it's sucking air it will idle too high.if that's not the problem the you likely need a throttle posion sensor.
Where is the wire located to set the timing on a
The wire that needs to be disconnected is the (IC) Ignition Control wire. It just happens to be inside the cab. (bright idea there) If its not under the carpet on the passanger side beneath the heater box. Pull the glove box and look for a single ( tan with black strip )wire. Disconnect - set timing- reconnect. Best of luck.

A/C in 1995 Chevy pickup isn't working
Do you hear any loud whinny sounds from your compressor? if so it may need replacing. You might also want to check the AC sensor, and the AC switch module.
Engine has a miss
Check timing and timing belt. Aim a timing light at the crankshaft, and if the mark is jumping around a lot, your chain has jumped a cog. If not that, then you have a stuck valve, or a burnt one. Do a compression test.
Sputtering while in idle and while accelerating.
Going to need more information, but areas I'd start with on a vehicle that old would be (1) fuel filter, (2) plugs, (3) plug wires & (4) air filter. Air filter not likely to be culprit though.
More complicated areas would be contaminated fuel, bad fuel pump, and then you get into emissions "stuff."
Chevy overheats during city driving, but not on
Hello, I would check the radiator for scaling. It sounds like you have some stopped up coils which will allow water to flow good enough while on the expressway but not in town. You could take it to one of the oil change places and they can flush the radiator at a reasonable price and tell you how bad the scaling is. If its too bad you might need to get some stronger flush from the parts store and do it a few times to get it all out. I hope my answer helps and good luck.
I tried to charge the air conditioner on 95
The system could be low on oil. The compressor will shut itself down if it detects a lack of oil or refrigerant. Try adding compressor oil (comes in a can similar to the R-134A) to see if the compressor will stay engaged long enough to accept a charge. It's also possible that the system has so much air in it that it needs to be evacuated before refrigerant can be added. I'd try to add the oil and see if you have better sucess adding refrigerant REMINDER: Have AC on HIGH when adding refrigerant with car running
Hope this helps with your AC problem. Please post back with any other questions. Best of luck.

Brake Problems
the only thing left unless you have a leak is the proportioning valve A soft pedal can also be caused by badly adjusted rear brakes but you shouldn't experience a pedal fade right to the floor with bad adjustment.
