1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera - Page 4 Questions & Answers
What is the best oil for a 1989 Cutlass Ciera
If you have no oil leaks.. I would use a synthetic or synthetic blend in the 5w 30 range. Look for oils made for high mileage engines, but that is not essential. 120k is not that high.

Since you have already replaced the most common components that can cause a no spark condition I suspect a cam sensor error or crank and cam sensor going out of range with eachother.
This may or may not cause a check engine light on this year vehicle. If the cam sensor is working but the timing chain is severly worn (which on an 1989 which could have high mileage is entirely possible) the crank and cam sensor will get out of wack. The ECM (computer) will shut down but will not throw a code in this condition. Later model years corrected this lack of error code. Chryslers of the same year had the same issue.
I have seen many mechanics throw a lot of parts at these trying to solve this issue. Many times the vehicle will start right back up other times you have to let it sit. Without a lot of testing I cannot be sure of this, but it's worth looking into before you spend a lot of money replacing good parts. I have also seen vehicles with this problem break the timing chain prior to getting properly diagnosed and then you will be out a lot more money.
Stalls when hot
Try a crank sensor. It's just above the oil pan center between the engine and transmission. Look and see if the old one is cracked.
Cars
You would have to disconnect the glass and remove the power regulators, and replace the regulators with manual ones. Then drill holes in the door panels for the window crank handles. Then the regulators and tracks would need to be adjusted.
Ignition control module
Yes the problem could be the control module, or a long list of other electrical components.Someone will need to figure out if you are lacking spark or fuel pressure when it will not start, then proceed.
Power window on drivers side messing up
I would say the noise is the gears over-running each other. There is a gear on the motor and one on the window regulator. You probably have a restriction in one of the tracks.
