Depends whether you want the clock or the cig lighter try disconnecting the lighter and if the clock still works it is more than likely something in the lighter.they are inexspensive to replace.

It sounds like it could be the fuel pump or a realy dirty fuel filter But it could be electrical as well like the electronic igintion module those are the two things that would make the engine die out that sudden

You will find the fuse links mounted on the main wire terminal of the starter.
You will find two or three of them there.

In some of the GM cars I owned like those I relocated them to an easier access point on the firewall by using another cable from the battery to a terminal board out of a later model.

Filter is in-line and located between the intake manifold and the fire wall. To make your car theft proof simply wire in a kill swich between the battery and the ignition switch and locate that kill switch in a place that no one can find except you.

GM had a recall on the brakelight switch, if fuses good and bulbs/wiring good may be switch Scan tool can verify switch operation

The blue wire comes hot with the key and it comes from the fuse panel as the power seat circuit breaker ( looks like a fuse but metal box ) It's possible that the car didn't have power seats but the fuse holder is in the fuse panel and the place for the blue wire isn't even filled with a fuse contac. Your chevy pars dept can sell you the circuirt breaker and the insert that goes in the fuse panel that'll let you hook it up right. ( it's alot safer that way.)

nope..not under the car...follow the fuelline intothe front of the carb which would be closest to the fan..it has a bigbolt with a smaller bolt..twist one clockwise and other counter...then u can pull out the line and there is the filter..its about 2 dollars and will make a huge difference..i just did mine..

sounds like ur timing is too high..u should be around 900 in park and about 600 700 in idle in drive..i just payed 35 to get mine done cuz i dont havethetools:-/

if its the 307 y then it should have a bolt on the bottm that when loosend should let u move the pupm or should i say let it slide...it would be alot easier if u took the alt off first

mines is a v8..so its a 5.0 liter 307..u can tell on ur vin number tho..it should have an h or y check ur manuel for the complete list...

sounds like your loseing fuel preasure at your regulater

The guage is bad or the wiring going to it....there is no car made that will idle at 250...most idle at 700 rpm and most turn 2000 at 60 mph

take all the screws out of the panel around the radio, pop off the piece, then remove the screws holding the radio in. take the radio out, pull out the plug in the back and now you can remove it completely.

make sure it's tight!

mcdevito75 here, I don:"t think there is a fan belt changeing diagram for your 86" you can order the new belts and mark them Water pump, alternator, power steering. as you order them. The power steering pump is the most difficult to loosen and tighten, you"ll also need a crowbar to hold the various units tight after you install the new belts as the belts can"t be too lose nor too tight. Best bet let your local shop change the belts they last a good while and you have the piece of mind all is adjusted correct.

The heater control,where you turn it on,and off,pull it out,it is most likely burned up where the connector attaches to the switch,and the connector,will most likely have to be replaced.

75 /85/90 weight gear grease,,about 2 quarts and a /14 of a bottle,85/90 will be what you find mostly,and it is just fine.
