Is there a reset button for the fuel pump
Posted by velma001 on
Yes there is a fuel pump reset switch. This switch is designed to shut off fuel flow during an accident. Usually it is located on the inside panel of the dash on the passenger side right by the floor.

I need a diagram for a 1994 dodge grand caravan se 3.3 L V6 Serpentine belt diagram

i was driving and van just shut off, and now won't start. coil works fine. fuel pump works fine. no spark.

Sounds like an AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN (ASD) RELAY problem. Fairly common on the Caravan.
Heres a brief overview of the ASD.
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) operates the Auto Shutdown (ASD) relay by switching the ground path on and off.
The ASD relay supplies battery voltage to the fuel injectors, electronic ignition coil and the heating elements in the oxygen sensors.
The PCM controls the relay by switching the ground path for the solenoid side of the relay on and off. The PCM turns the ground path off when the ignition switch is in the Off position unless the 02 Heater Monitor test is being run. Refer to On-Board Diagnostics. When the ignition switch is in the On or Crank position, the PCM monitors the crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor signals to determine engine speed and ignition timing (coil dwell). If the PCM does not receive the crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor signals when the ignition switch is in the Run position, it will de-energize the ASD relay.
The ASD relay is located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC). The PDC is located on the driver's side inner fender well Power Distribution Center . A label on the underside of the PDC cover identifies the relays and fuses in the PDC
Check for good ground.
Good luck...i hope this helps, please rate me a fixya.

sliding door won't close
Posted by deltajacki on
First you need to determine if the issue is a door sliding issue or a door latching issue. These are 2 separate problems.
If the car/van was in an accident-take it to the bodyman.
If the railing is dirty or has a nail, penny, etc in the way this would also cause problems.
If the latch is already closed on the door lick it can't engage since it is already 'latched'.
Isolate the problem - try again! TJ

hi i have a 1994 dodge caravan it is leaking oil can this be fix im worry that we would have to save money for a van for my kids thanks
Posted by courtneysc... on
The Chrysler minivan products all had leaking problems. I have had 5 or 6 different Dodge or Plymouth minivans from 88 to 99. How bad is it. The most common thing is Valve cover leaks. Front and rear seals in the engine leak as well as the oil pan gasket. If its leaking a little bit at a time open the hood and look at the front and rear of the engine. Do you see grease and oil that has gone down the sides of the engine? Do you see a lot of grease on the engine with some clean streaks going through it. You may be able to see where its leaking from. If you know someone that knows what their doing have them change the leaky gasket/s. If not you can probably have it repaired for less than buying another van unless other things are seriously wrong with the van.
Hope this helps... Dale

steering wheel shakes at a low speed
Posted by ilaryea on
If this problem happens only when you are driving ( not in Idle/parking) then you need to check the wheels with a mechanic, you probably need to align and balance the wheels. Good luck

I have a 94 Dodge Caravan. The transmission will not go into reverse but the other gears are fine. Can or how do I fix the reverse band or is something else going on?
if you have added or changed trany fluid lately then there is a good chance that a port is clogged .. if you let the fluid get too old then it forms a cooked on film inside the tranmission .. when you add new fluid or change the fluid the detergent aditives wash off the film .. it can come off in pieces that can clog things .. many transimission repair places will tell you it needs to be rebuilt .. thats what i have done in the past at very high cost .. but now there is a process where they force a solvent cleaner through the transmission and torque converter ..this is supposed to desolve the film ... and i think that might work but havent tried it yet .. you might want to observe the process since it has been reported that several shops charge you for doing the cleaning but dont .. one down side of this process is that they dont change the internal filter (they dont even have to take the tranny pan off) .. but they claim the cleaning process also cleans the filter by back flushing ... so maybe thats ok ... they charge about $100 or so for this process .. thats a lot if it doesnt work but a lot better than the kilobucks for a rebuild if it does ..
i have also seen where battery acid leaked on the control cable for the gear shift (near bottom of steering col under the hood) .. the bracket that holds the housing for that cable was weakened and the gears no longer registered properly .. in my case that showed up as the "park" didnt work and "reverse" was flakey .. repairing that bracket and calibrating the cable position fixed that ..

1994 dodge caravan check engine light comes on after engine warms up. Codes retrieved with check engine light, 12, 32 & 55
Posted by busmech1 on
These are all the definitions for your codes.
It's hard to give an exact cause for these codes because of there are a number of different items that could cause these.
The first one could be caused by Incorrect camshaft timing,
VCT solenoid valve stuck open or continuous oil flow to piston chamber,
Camshaft advance mechanism binding, or faulty VCT unit,
The others are most likely bad sensors.
I wish I could be more help but it's difficult to trouble shoot this kind of problem without having the vehicle here in front of me.
P0012 "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 1)
P0032 HO2S Heater Control Circuit High (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0055 HO2S Heater Resistance (Bank 1, Sensor 3)

My 2001 dodge grand caravan stalls after only 1 or 2 miles of driving then it will turn over but not start until it sits for 20-30 minutes. Also started happening when transmission went into limp mode. I replaced the speed sensors but dont think it did anything. Thank you for any help. !994 dodge caravan, I went to work it was fine, it sat for 9 hours, then I started it, then began started to drive home a few minutes later it stalled on me, for no reason, I waited a couple of minutes it started again, so I drove 4 more more blocks down the street, then it stall for no reason again, Finally after a few more minutes waiting, it started again, pulled in my drive way then it stalled again, this time with a oil light on the dashboard, and I just changed my oil 3 days before. So I let it sit for 20minutes, then it started again, but this time I parked it close to the house.I now I am afraid to drive down the road tomorrow, fearing it might stalll again. Can someone please help me find the problem.
Check the sensors on the throttle body. There is a sensor that controls air to fuel ratio. If that sensor is bad then the car will run and then stall out while in drive. I had the same problem when it was cold outside last winter. If you dont want to dish out the money without knowing if it is that part at fault or not then start the van pop the hood and located the throttle body. Place your hand on the sensors and give them a little shake and then make sure they are plugged in all the way. You could also turn the van off and unhook the sensor clean the connectors and plug it back in. That should do the trick and if it doesnt stall anymore then I would replace those sensors if I was you. One more thing. If your giving the sensors a tug while the car is running and you hear it going to stall you could located the gas pedal cable and give it a rev or two by hand so it doesnt stall out and turn off. By the way. You van isnt over heating at all is it?
