Rubber weatherstrip

Hey Daddykins!

Take a look at the following link: http://www.technologylk.com/catalog/1458/CRL-Weatherstrips-Gaskets/
They sell professional quality replacement weatherstripping / window gaskets with two styles available. You will have to trim to fit, but I'm sure this will save you $$$ over the BMW parts price. They also offer adhesives for installation, or you can get some 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive (We used to call it 'gorilla snot', because it would stick anything to anything!).

Hope this helps you out and good luck with the project!

Thanks!

Retracting mirrors on 1997 Z3 Roadster

No.
To move them, remove the trim on the inside, and remove the 3 nuts that hold the mirrors on.
You said the key word....force. They are not designed to fold in.
And at $250.00 (at least) each (that's unpainted) I don't think you want to replace them unless you have to.

Drivers side seat will not

I had the same problem. It turned out that the previous owner(s) had let a lot of sticky trash accumulate under the seat. After the seat was removed and everything (seat tracks and floor) was given a good cleaning, the seat goes up and down just fine.

Wont Start

Could be the immobiliser.  Do you have the original keys?  If your key does not have a remote unlock, it's likely to be a "spare" key, which doesn't have an immobiliser chip in it.  If you take your VIN to your dealer, they can get you a new key - at a cost.  I've been quoted over $400 to have a key replaced.
Hope this helps.
