Has a po303 and a po300 code
P0300 is a random misfire and P0303 is a misfire on cylinder 3. That's where the trouble is. Change your sparkplugs and see if the coil that drives the #3 cylinder has signs of damage. Then reset the code. If it comes back, swap that coil with another, reset the code, and see if the misfire code moves. If it does, the problem is the coil. If it does not, the problem is the plug, wire (if applicable), or ignition driver for the coil.
Bmw z3 passenger seat goes forward backwards but
It can also be theseat motor since there is seperate motors for up/down & forward/backwards. You can test the switch to see if you are getting power to the connector on the motor by using a multimeter.
If there is power to the motor, I would remove the motor and give it a tap on the ground. Alot of the time the motor is fine, and the tap will free it up again. If it doesn't work you may be up for a new seat motor. Giving mine a tap solved the issue with mine.
Manual trans is stuck in 1 gear
This actually happened to me in my '91 taurus SHO. As they towed it off, the driver looked under the car, and noticed the gearshift linkage had slipped off. He reconnected it right there (no tools required other than we had the front of the car lifted off of the ground) and I drove home.
Bmw z3 has no electrics, all dead
might be water inside the car leaked in slowly from the soft top in heavy rain, does the car smell slighly inside when all windows are closed? take the seats out and remove the water under the carpets, then leave everything to dry by slightly opening the windows for moisture to escape, try parking the car in the sun..........
How can i get the code for the radio
unfortunatly you will need to go to the dealer. Make sure you write it down when they give it to you. only other option you have is to replace the factory stereo with an aftermarket one. some people prefer this as they can get better features sometimes.
97 Honda Civic gets stuck in 5th gear
have the oil checked if needs to replaced sounds if the level is low or that you may have to rebuild the tranmition or you can buy one at a scrap yard you may be lucky and get one from a accident car that may have less miles on
Where is the airbag sensor for BMW Z3 2.8l LOCATED???
Depending on which airbag sensor your after. There are 4 crash sensors on these. 2 in the doors for the side airbags, and the other 2 can be located underneath the bonnet. The sensors respond to the relevant airbag on the same side, i.e nearside sensor = passengers airbag, offside sensor = drivers airbag.
The main SRS control unit can be located underneath the centre console, thought ild add this in case you needed it!
Hope this helps!
Airbag Light stays ON
By disconnecting the sensor the light will still stay on unfortunately. The light has come on in fact due to either a false contact normally with the connector under the seat (common problem) or an actual fault with the airbag itself. By disconnecting it, it will only record the fault in the MRS (Multiple Restraint System) to have occured an additional time.
The only way to clear an airbag fault, is to plug in a reader and clear the fault. However this is a vicious circle because if the airbag system isnt problem free, the light wont extinguish! It was designed so cars were forced to go to the garages with such problems as they are a high risk problem, as any joe could just disconnect the airbags and sell it to an unsuspecting victim knowing its unsafe etc etc!
Hope this helps
2000 Z3 Warning light
if it has an orange light with it this could be the engine warning light which means you need to get it looked at by your dealer as it could be a serious engine problem or it could just be a service indicator
Warning lights on in my 97 Z3.
I have a replacement roof for my 1997 BMW Z3, could anyone give me advice how easy or hard its and could one man do it on his own?
Z3 seat rock repair
There is a ratchet system on the slide rail below the seat, sometimes the teeth on the ratchet wear out, especially when adjusted often. The hook holder that actually clamps onto those teeth, may be broken off or worn out aswell, and either of these will need replacement. Some models also come with air-suspension and a locking device, the spring on this device may be missing or worn, this will also mean a new one is neccesary for repair.
BUT... If you don't want to fork out, and are going to leave the seat in one position for a long time, may I suggest simply welding the rail to the seat, this is a permanent thing and would require you to throw away the entire sliding system, if you ever need to adjust the seat. Hope this helps you. Good luck!
Location of theromstat
HI the thermostat is located within the housing which is a black plastic tube on the front of the engine between the cylinder head and the radiator
