    My 2000 Z3 Roadster started

Misfires are caused by the following and each must be tested to rule it out as the cause of the misfire
Ignition system, spark plugs and coil or coils
Defective fuel injector or wiring to the injector of misfiring cylinder.

Low engine cylinder compression/pressure due to a burnt valve or damage to the cylinder wall that causes a loss of compression.

Leaking intake manifold gasket causing the cylinder to run lean
Defective electronic engine control computer, this is known as the "PCM".

I suggest you take your car to a shop and have a full diagnostic run to determine the source of the misfire, u may just have a defective fuel injector, but there is no guarantee this is the problem, in my 35 years of being an automotive tech i have seen every one of the above problems cause misfiring.

    Drivers seat motor wont go

maybe something jammed in the rails or damaged motor. Up & down is ok because it has seperate motor. Easy to remove seat and have a look at the set up. Basically it's a long screw on the end of a motor that drives thru a captive nut in the seat. Sometimes the captive nut wears and causes "seat rock" fore and aft.

I think you should be looking for the water leak first ! The trunk rubber seals and the tail lamps are high on the suspected list. The drain hose you are looking at could be the fuel tank filler vent hose , necessary to stop vapor lock in the fuel system . Remove the trunk liner and replace with newspaper and check daily for water tracking daily . good luck

How to replace/install a fuel pump on a 1997 BMW

Installing a water pump. Courtesy of Dana Corporation.
    • Loosen and remove the bolts in a crisscross pattern from the center outward.
    • Insert a rag into the block opening and scrape off any remains of the old gasket.
WARNING When working on the coolant system (for example, replacing the water pump or thermostat), a certain amount of coolant will spill on the floor. The antifreeze in the coolant causes it to be very slippery. Always immediately wipe up any coolant that spills to reduce or eliminate the chance of injury.
    • When replacing a water pump, always follow the procedures recommended by the manufacturer.
    • Most often a coating of good waterproof sealer should be applied to a new gasket before it is placed into position on the water pump.
    • Coat the other side of the gasket with sealer, and position the pump against the engine block until it is properly seated.
    • Install the mounting bolts and tighten them evenly in a staggered sequence to the torque specifications with a torque wrench. Careless tightening could cause the pump housing to crack. Check the pump to make sure it rotates freely.
    • The water pumps on many late-model OHC engines are driven by the engine's timing belt. When replacing the water pump on these engines, always replace the timing belt.
    • Make sure all pulleys and gears are aligned according to specifications when installing the belt. NOTE THIS IS FOR A 1.9 4CYL

How can i disable passanger air bag on 1999 z3

It's never a great idea to dis connect any safety feature on a vehicle. But should you wish to do so here are two possible options. BMW may have a key operated switch (usually ignition) to disarm the passanger side airbag (usually in the case of rear facing child seat being fitted) OR if you manually disconnect the airbag (NOT reccommended) you will have to insert a resistance into the passanger bag circuit of equivelant to the air bag that was removed. In order to maintain the self diagnosis check system.

this requires removal of valve cover, then you need to aquire timing blocks possibly from aftermarket part store to lock the cams in place so that the first lobe on intake and exhausr cam point towards each other, you must then remove the cahin tensioner and then inspect the timing mark on the block and crank pully which has allowed room for possible adjustments, without timing blocks this is very difficult to do
