Good morning.. Yesterday afternoon as
If the unit detects that there's a CD in the unit it thinks it should turn on. The other thing it might be doing is getting disconnected and reconnected ( the fuse box is well known for dirty connections ) with out removing the fuses, you can roll( turn the fuse) in it's holder to make a better connection. the key switch can do this too as you hang too many keys on it. Try removing the extra keys off the car key and see in the problem goes away.

My new clutch on my
Sounds like you need a new shop. If they just replaced the clutch the sound is most likely from an improper install. If you had warning lights or check engine lights I would agree it's the sensor but at this point it sounds like they didn't get the clutch in correctly or the throw out bearing and the more you drive it the worse it is going to get. They just don't want to drop the Tranny and admit they messed up without getting paid.

Squealing noise Upon slow acceleration
Hey- I have the exact same problem with my Z4 although its a 06 as opposed to an 04. I took it to the shop and was told it was break dust covering the break sensors. They removed my rear calipers and rotors, cleaned and greased the brakes. So far I havent had the sound again. Doesnt it feel so weird to be driving around with the top down on a nice day then slow down at a red light and be accosted with such a horrible sound like that? It drove me absolutely nuts. It went from a light sound only when I was barely accelerating (like trying to find a parking spot) to a bit of a scratchy metal sound which is why I think the problem may apply to you as well.
On a side note, I am also told by a friend of mine who is also a bimmer guy that it might be due to the brake pads vibrating back and forth inside the brake caliper. He suggests checking out a $2 investment in a product called Plastilube which will stop the noise. I did a quick search and you can purchase it by going to:

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2006 bmw z4?
Hi, On the E85, MY03 - 09 a seperate fuel filter is absent. Unlike the E36/E46 which has an inline filter and is reaplceable as part of the maintenance items, the E85 does not have this 'feature'. The fuel filter is an integral part of the intank fuel pump [ which i believe is like the strainer.
In order to change the ff the entire pump assembly has to be replaced. On the safer side this is one of those items best left to be done by the dealer.

have you had the alternator or fan belt checked as they will squeel when they are loose and you accelerate.
This may not be the problem but it is a cheap fit if it is the problem.
hope this has helped
