my guess is that you have a short check the back of your stereo especially if you have an after market deck make sure no wires are touching

check the main fuse under the hood and make sure the truck is in park don't go by the shifter craw under the truck and pop the shift cable off and make sure your in park
make sure some one is helping you once you know your in park try to take the key out of switch and cranking it

never heard of it on a hummer ,but yes had this issue on a focus and quite a few renaults,

check ur fuses - -

You need to locate the rear door hatch switch and free it up or replace it if that is not an option.Merry Christmas and good luck!

unscrew the small screws when you open the back door and then pull the whole light out. the bulbs in the back twist to unlock.

If it is involved with your suspension, perhaps it is the differential fluid. You don't mention having checked that.

Open the rear gate. There are a couple screws you need to take out to remove the whole lamp assembly. Pull the bulbs out and replace then replace the lamp and put screws back in.
