When should i have the fuel injection system cleaned
Unless you have used some incorrect or bad gas or if your check engine light is coming on with lean codes that are not due to some other cause, or your engine is stumbling or otherwise running poorly, you shouldn't need to have your injection system cleaned. This is NOT something that needs to be done as "routine maintenance", although many rip-off operations where mechanics are working on commission (including some dealerships) will try to convince you that it is, so they can part you from more of your money.I have customers that have over 300,000 miles on their vehicles that have never had an injector cleanng. On the other hand, I have had to clean injectors on cars that were barely out of warranty because a bad tank of gas caused their injectors to clog up.My recommendation is to save your money for things your vehicle really needs.....And maybe take your significant other out for a nice dinner.
No do you know ways
You need to get a scanner hooked up to know the error code, or codes. There are very many.
There is a small thud
Find a new mechanic!!! Is your factory warranty over?
Can you tell where the thud is coming from? Engine area, under vehicle, in the rear? When the check engine light is on, go to a place like AutoZone and have the code scanned, and have them give a printout. post that info here.
