2008 Chevy Trailblazer Error codes B0455, B0131,

{: ) If your vehicle is equipped with an air suspension system, one possible source for this combination of codes is the wiring along the air compressor located on a bracket on the left rear chassis frame, near the spare tire. Carefully pull the plastic conduit off of the wires, and inspect the wires for any cuts / abrasion or possibly a resulting corrosion (due to a short or open circuit & water exposure)

Engine light with wrench and tire came on

{: ) An engine light with wrench indicate a fault in the engine and requires immediate servicing. You should have your vehicle scanned to determine the cause. For your tire light, check first all your tires for proper specifications and recommended pressures. If tires are okay, then they may need to be relearned by a scan tool. I hope the trouble doesn't reach your tire sensors or module. Goodluck.

My engine light is on

You have 3 components that could possibly be returning this. I am surprised the mechanic only said Emissions system though. It would be helpful to know exactly what the code was but without out the code we can still narrow it down. In a vehicle this new I doubt it is the catalytic converter so do to cost I will leave that for last. Start by replacing the O2 sensor. Now, it is also uncommon to have a problem there this early but with all the different additives they put in gas today and the fact that bad gas is pretty common that would be the first place I would start, after changing the plugs and wires. Next look at the gas vapor return canister and make sure those lines are clear, they appear as vacuum lines and recycle the unburned gas vapors from the motor. Make sure all the vacuum lines are connected properly and don't have holes in them and check the gas cap seal. In the newer vehicles if the gas cap doesn't seal correctly the emission system faults putting the vehicle in "limp" mode which causes it to run rough. If all of these things check out look at the MAP sensor and have it checked. If the mechanic at the shop isn't telling you the exact code he is receiving take it to Auto Zone and ask them to read the code, they usually do so for free and the exact code will give you a better idea of where to look and what to replace. You can reset the code and light by disconnecting the Negative battery terminal for 1 minute and reconnect it.

Yellow exclamation point on dashboard - what does

A yellow explanation point symbol on the dashboard typically applies to the Tire Pressure Monitoring system. A thick ! inside a half drawn flat tire symbol to be complete and comes in yellow color when lit. Under normal vehicle set-up, if this indicator stays lit after the power-on selftest, you need to check your tires for any uneven pressures and adjust their pressures to correct specifications. Okay? : )

The stabilizer light comes on while I'm driving,

Your vehicle stability control system has detected inconsistencies while you are driving. A scan tool will give a clearer answer. As of the moment, we can only approximate our judgements. Check your tires for uneven pressures, flat spots, uniformity of all 4 tires and of the correct size and specifications. It is also possible you need some balancing and wheel alignment. Or a malfunctioning sensor. Check these out one a time, roadtest, and observe if there's progress. Or you may do some trial maneuvers and observe how it is triggered. Note them down, and you can try to analyze the situation by yourself or with your friendly technician. In effect you'll be able to slim down some unnecessary costs. Okay, sir? goodluck : )

"!" Indicator light on 2008 Chev Trailblazer

If the ! symbol you saw is inside a circle enclosed in parentheses like (O), and usually red in color, that's for your brake fluid. Check it out, maybe its low on fluid. If it is, check for fluid leaks or worn brakepads. Usually the ! symbol coincides with the P symbol and also red in color. When the park brake is engaged, both these symbols appear together. If you release the park brake, both indicators should turn off under normal conditions, otherwise either of the two or both will stay on when there is insufficient fluid or there's a parking brake circuit fault. Brakes are very important, so give proper attention and solution if ever these indicators lightb up when they shoud not.
If the ! symbol is very bold and inside a half drawn flat tire, and yellow in color, thats the tire pressure monitor indicator. Check and balance all four tire pressures to the correct specification.
Okay, sir? have a safe trip. : )

C0455

The code description is Front Steering Position Circuit. Your traction system has detected a fault in the steering controls system. Try driving on a straight line. Did you notice a pulling on one side? You will need to check tire pressures, proper tires, and brake system conditions. Is your steering wheel off center? Your vehicle may need wheel alignment. These are the least you can fix by yourself without a scan tool. With a scan tool, the recommendation could say a faulty sensor or module, or a wiring concern. My tip for you, the most common culprit is the steering angle sensor.

Okay, sir? goodluck and drive safely. : )

I have a 2008 trailblazer with the 6 cylinderer.

Usually when it's a temperature related problem like this, it's intake manifold bolts that are loose. Since the intake is plastic, the bolts can and do come loose. Check cylinder #5 and #6 first, these are the easiest to get to near the firewall. Snug them back up and hope this clears up your problem.

Intermitent problem. engine will not

Sounds like it may be the ignition switch, which is a common failure with these. Not the switch the key goes in, but the actual ignition switch, it's under the plastic cover just below the key switch.

2008 trailblazer the emission light

most likely a failed throttle body. does the light on the dash say Reduced Engine Power? If so then your throttle body has went into "forced power limited" mode. All 08 Trailblazers have electronic throttle bodies, I would see your dealer if i were you.

I have a rattle in

Been there done that with all front end noises on my Trailblazer. Took me 6 years to figure it out myself and had been into the dealer several times. If it's a rattle noise, like metal to metal, it's your sway bar end links, replace them with Moog brand ($37 each) as these are greasable unlike the stock ones. Boy if you live near Sacramento, I'll look at it for you. There are other noises that I can diagnose by hearing them. A squeaking noise is usually the hood stops and lock, grease them up. A crunching spring noise would be either be your upper or lower A-Arm bushings or your swaybar bushings.

The only real expensive thing here to replace out of all these is the lower A-arm bushings. They are not removable, must buy the whole bracket with the bushings installed...about $120 or less. The way to isolate the squeak is to spray some silicone lube on one bushing at a time.
