if it aint the axle (cv) it might be the trans insides broke

Headlamps are computer controlled , Front control module ! The headlamp switch is an input to the instrument cluster . It could be anything and the only way to discover what, in the absence of specialist diagnostic gear, is to work systematically through the systems. Unlikely to be the fuel filter but if it is due for a change it is wise to change it. Carefully cut the old one open and you will find a clue to whether to change your fuel supplier. It could be an oxygen sensor or the CAT blocking up. It could be related to fuel pressures or injectors or the air metering unit. It could be almost anything...

Press the button, it should have an 1/8" slack. The TKC can be adjust in the same way if so equipped.

Maybe some gunk got into the idle air passageway .

The battery gauge indicates alternator performance. Check the voltage at the large wire terminal on the back of the alternator with the engine running. If voltage is less than 14 vdc, remove the alternator and have it tested at your local parts store.

I suspect you may want to have the CTM checked, or do like I did and just replace it (used about $75-$100 on eBay). Make sure you get the part number on yours and match the number portion (not necessarily the two letter suffix) EXACTLY. It should be located behind the kick panel to the left of the driver's feet (that's where it is on my 2003 Dakota), but may be to the right of the glove box (have to remove the glove box to get to it).

Sounds like great fun... Vanclure, Until you actually STUMBLE over the issue... I could be anything... I am really curious how ONE tunes a vehicle that does not run...?? You are not getting any SPARK...?? (pretty easy to check for a spark)... Does it smell like (FUEL) gasoline...?? Without any DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) being read or offered... and lacking a decent description of HOW the ENGINE BEHAVES while it is "not starting" Is it TURNING at all...?? If it is turning... does it make any catching, popping or back-firing...?? One thing I will ask you... Avoid the OBVIOUS MISTAKE of replacing the Oxygen sensors... They are (typically) only reporting the news... MOST COMMONLY NEW OXYGEN SENSORS report the EXACT SAME NEWS.... Save your money for the EXHAUST SYSTEM repairs...
