the module is called the communication interface module- cim- it is located behind the glove box

without seeing the engine compartment, I may assume that there is a cover that snaps over the plenum, rocker covers etc., acting as a cosmetic cover...they usually just push/snap in place....grab a corner and see if the cover pops which would allow access to the rocker cover.

I am guessing that you are looking all over the engine compartment, and you just can't find that darn trans dipstick. This may be because your car doesn't have one. The automobile companies that make those fancy expensive cars don't want the owners fiddling with fluid levels on these cars. What they've done on your car and many others is create a fluid level check that is at your trans drain plug. Your big plug has a smaller plug screwed into it's center. If you remove the smaller plug and a drop of oil comes out ,you are good. If no oil comes out you will need to fill. There is a fill plug somewhere on side of transmission. Please don't take this info 100% for your CTS because unless I see I am guessing. To be on the safe side I would go to a good repair shop to have your trans fluid checked correctly. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

If the cd still works then it is just a bad display in the unit , replacing the unit would be cheaper than repairing it.

Go to an animal shelter, The exhaust bolt are on the rear of motor, hard to get at...

What year ? Throttle position sensors and Mass Air flow sensors could cause this problem.

You may have blew the head and gasket. Just put die pack into the radiator reservoir and if the die which is like a dark purple/blue turns yellow then the engine head is blown. Then is gets pricey as the head has to be reworked because the heat damages it. its a royal pain to fix. Most folks sell the older cars.

I dont think there is a connection between an oil change and the gallons per mile. With that age car, I suggest a Terra engine clean. It will blow away nine years of gunk from the spark plugs, fuel injectors, cylinders and exhaust. Should give you more power, more miles..

I would first try to do a hard reset which means disconnecting your battery for 24 hours, that solves more problems than you would imagine. Good luck.

You need to test it for what is called parasitic drain. The way that you test it is to get a good amp meter that measures dc amps at a rate of higher than one amp. Disconnect one battey cable and hook one meter lead to it and the other meter lead to the battery. Make sure that the key is off and no doors are open when you do this.
