On a Buick, it is located on top of the fuel tank. It is set into the module that contains the fuel pump assembly. If you have an access panel under the rear seat or inside the trunk area, whereby you can get to and change the fuel pump assembly, you should be able to remove the access panel and see the sensor where it sits in the fuel pump module or housing.

You realize to replace the rear main you must remove the transmission.

On page 2-16 in the owners manual there is no mention of using a key to access the trunk. The latch and lock are electric. You can access the trunk space thru the back seat in an emergency.

This would require changes to the engine wiring harness since sensors are located in different positions. Additionally, the ECM is programmed for the 3.6L and would not work right for the 3.1L without reprogramming. Also, there's a good chance that the transmission would not bolt up directly since bell housings are probably different. Changing out an engine with one of the same years and size is difficult enough, but changing engine sizes on these computerized cars requires extensive knowledge, tools, equipment, and time.

Hi,when the timing belt brakes it allows the pistons to crash into the valves in the head so they bend or brake,as a quick whay to find out what damage has been done,buy a new timing belt and set the timing then get a compresion tester and do each cylinder at a time and see what the values are,it will let you know how maney valves are bent or broken if any,also if the valves are bent or broken they may of damaged inside the head,sorry about your problem hope you get it sorted out and dose not cost alot to fix,all the best.

My 2009 CTS4 should be the same as your 2008 CTS. There is no dipstick tube to check or fill the transmission. The check plug is in the bottom of the pan. It loos like a drain plug, but it is not. The fill plug is on the passenger side of the transmission, just above the front of the oil pan. It is a plastic and rubber plug that is pulled straight up. You'll probably be better off having it checked and filled at a dealer or trans shop.

I have a 2009 CTS, and I recall that most or all the fuses are under the hood, under the black plastic covers next to the fenders.

Did you put gas in? If so, you might not have tighten the gas cap.

If a code was set and you do not have the code, you will need to go to the dealer and have them unlock it.

you would be a fool not to. as long as the car is in your name and you have not reported it stolen then any traffic violations come back to you and robberies that the car is used in involves you as an accomplish and if the car is involved in a smash and you didn't report it stolen the the insurance company may not pay you as you agreed to allow the driver to use your car.
