I e a bearcat uniden handheld scanner BC75XLT all set and scanning but every few seconds a sound comes on and says found I didn't c this in the manuel whats wrong

Hi, try going thru every channel in manual and see if any of them 'stay on'? Next, make sure that you haven't pushed the 'Priority' as that will go to that channel every second or two. Next, increase the squelch a bit so that you don't get a sudden burst of noise. and last but not least, keep this away from a wired Ethernet cable- putting mine by a CAT5 cable causes it to stop on two VHF channels. Good luck and let me know how it goes for you.

Can you tell me how I can get good reception on a uniden bc142xl its so staticy and you cant really hear when theirs call that goes out on the scanner can you help me

Many times it's caused by poor antenna reception. You also may be on the fringe receiving area.

Transmission breaking up

Without having the scanner to examine, my first thought is that you have the squelch set too high, and the signal is not very strong. Try putting and external antenna on the radio and see if you don't get better copy. Lastly, there could be a problem with the radio as well, but like I said, without examining the radio I can't know that.

Potential problem with Diesel Night Hawk model 4-44 40 channel

The ratio for reflected power is 1:10, if your radio have 10watt fwd power then 1 swr is ok. its better if you tuned your antenna according to frequency chart which you are using. see the antenna cable for any damage, use low loss cable, also change the mic.
